For anyone that actually has this opinion (my mom for instance), just think if we made it legal and there were legal sources (say a pharmacy), then that pharmacy would have the pure stuff. So really, the people that already use it are in less "danger" than before.

I don't smoke pot, nor do I have any interest in doing so, but man, you're ****ing retarded.
Also I really, really, hate above the influence commercials. It makes annoying strait edge kids who are all self-righteous just because they don't do drugs and are all pure or some shit.

Thanks to pot, I stole from my mom's purse and left my ex 27 messages last night!

marijuana is still legal because anyone who wants it legalised smokes the stuff anyway and is probably too brain dead from smoking marijuana to do anything to legalise it

Go back to D.A.R.E.

I've never smoked and even I think making it illegal is stupid. Maybe it's just my Jamaican blood, though.

Erm.... No it doesn't. There is no correlation between murder rates and marijuana smoking except for people who were already criminals in other ways.

What the ****, no, I don't smoke weed, but I support the legalization of it.

Btw, that last statement reminds me of something George Carlin used to say: "one of the things preventing the legalization of marijuana is that noone can remember where they left the petitions".

LOL im hi rite now

I, myself, support the legalization of this plant. Why is the act of consuming cannabis in any way so taboo in our society? Many famous intellectuals support(ed) the legalization of marijuana. Al Gore, the German philosopher Freidrich Nietzche, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, our founding fathers. Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, John Adams, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama. Ron Paul, etc. Many misconceptions about marijuana (it kills braincells, causes cancer, etc) are set by high end government officials who think only of themselves. The history of cannabis and the means by which it was criminalized are not well-known, few people know about it.

Cannabis is one of the safest medicinal substances on this planet. It's use has dated back to over 2000 years ago, and no one has ever died from cannabis, not to mention there has never been a report of lung cancer, or any type of cancer, from cannabis use alone. It is physically impossible to overdose on cannabis. The substance is also non-addictive, users do not face with-drawl symptoms unlike tobacco, or in some cases, alcohol.

Not only is cannabis a safe drug to use with many medicinal benefits, but it could rapidly stimulate our failing economy. At it's current rate of legal [medical] marijuana, it generates 35.8 billion dollars per year. Profits from marijuana exceed that of corn and wheat combined. Revenue from illegal domestic marijuana is speculated at around 60 billion annually. That's a total of 95.8 billion per year, excluding imports. Cannabis is the number 1 cash crop in 12 different states, and in 30 other states, Cannabis is among the top three cash crops. Thomas Jefferson once said, “Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth and protection of the country”.

All of that is true.

Are the munchies a withdrawal symptom or a side effect?

It's not legal because it's very well known that weed makes you dumb. For people under 18, whose brains aren't quite finished with developing, it can have permanent damage on the brains. And even if you're over 18, your short-term-memory(?) gets damaged. It's a little weird alcohol is legal in there though. But hey, that's just how ****ed up America is.
