I am very proud to present my first complete map, The Shack. This is a King of the Hill map for Team Fortress 2 which centers around a single control point located in a small half destroyed shack. The map supports up to 16 players on each team, and has a desert at night time theme. With both bases symmetrically balanced towards the point, the red team does have a slight speed advantage when it comes to getting to the point. But in return blue has slightly better cover and spots to hide in that red can't reach (with the exception of Rocket and Nade jumps).

Like I said, this is my first real map and I would greatly appreciate criticism on how to improve my map on a later date.

Name: The Shack (koth_TheShack)
Type: King of the Hill
Ver: 1.0
Players: 32 Players (16 on each team)
File Size: 8mb

it looks like a typical tf2 map, nothing that jumps off the page but still something that looks genuinly enjoyable and playable

Were you expecting something amazing? Because this is my first real map. I've made maybe 5 other small tests maps but that's about it.

Thanks though.

Ha. It's pretty easy when you just run up some tutorials and get help from a friend. Miniman answers questions I have when he can, he also sent me to this guy ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPTqbrRQsbI&feature=PlayList&p=13A8C11B9FC96967&index=0&playnext=1 ) that has about 35 something tutorials starting from "installing the SDK" to more advanced stuff like making it rain boulders of fire.

I'd definitely play it, but I feel that some areas of the map are too cramped and would be hard to evade your opponents.

try contacting some server owners who own a server that runs custom maps. i.e. Axl's TF2 or 2f2f. they usually put it in their rotation if it's decent and they'll give you any feedback the players had.

It doesn't seem like there are enough health- and ammo packs, and the ones that exist don't seem very equally distributed.

Looks good though.

Going along with what 52 and Stuff said.
And yeah, your lighting did get better lol. I'd play that map if my computer wasn't reduced to shit. Nice job.

They might do it. But there servers usually always mid full to full. It has times where it's deader then dust but that's usually at 1am on a weekday.

Thanks for the input.
