If your teacher is a male, call him monsieur and then his name, but some people may prefer you to just call them monsieur, which just means mister, if your teacher is a female, you call her Madame if she is a Mrs., and if she is a miss you call her Madamemoiselle, your better off just calling any woman madame, because Madamemoiselle is in a very subtle way, talking down on a woman. When you are talking to a close friend, you should say tu, which is informal for "you". If you are talking to an adult or a superior, you say vous, which is formal for "you". Bonjour is good morning, Bonsoir is good evening, or sometimes used to say goodbye. The basic goodbye is Au revoir, but there are a couple others too. If someone asks you your name (Comment tu t'apples?) you say Je m'apple and then your name, Je m'apple is pronounced, juh-map-ell. If you have any questions just ask and I will try to answer.

Okay thanks, I will do this just to look like a good student.

Honestly, you wouldn't call them monsieur just to look like a good student, its standard in France to to say that, as a matter of fact if you don't call your teacher Monsieur, people will probably think your insane. Also, the French are extremely big on manners/morals, even though they are mostly atheist. So if you ever go to France, its almost a requirement to greet someone when you see them for the first time in the day.

Well I'm sure hes not expecting us to know that the second day of class. Wouldn't you be impressed if your student went out and learned that by himself without you telling him to after the first day?
