Why are they risking our lives just to see a ****ing thing exploding at millions of killometers?
It's just stupid.

Old.
When it actually hit, it was so insignificant that only if you were looking REALLY hard for it you wouldn't even see the small impact of dust flying off the moon anyway.

This has to be the stupidest thread you've ever created man. Do you realise how hard it would be for it to actually be dangerous to the planet? Imagine, it would be like shooting a .22 caliber bullet at a block of clay the size and volume of a 2 story building. This shit was completely harmless, calm down.

It actually had a purpose, it wasn't just to "see a ****ing thing exploding at millions of killometers" The impact of the explosion kicked up a bunch of dust from the moon's surface, which they were going to examine to try to see if there was any water in it. So basically they were trying to find if there was any water or ice present on the moon.

Also how are they risking our lives at all? It was a small bomb that you wouldn't even be able to see unless you had an expensive telescope.
