I really cannot imagine SPP existing for more than 10 years. I mean what the hell would happen if it just kept on going for years and years? Anything? Would it just become a dead zone one day once everyone leaves? Since web 2.0 has only been around for 15 years, and forums much less than that, nobody really thinks about how this shit will function in the long term. We're still in the 1st generation of internet users (I mean real internet users, not the weird pseudo internet of the 80s), so we haven't experienced a generation switch yet. What the internet will be like in 20 years is just a huge question mark, although it'll probably be a whole lot more complex. What about 50 years? 100 years? Will the crap that we post and maintain on the internet just remain the exact same for our grandchildren to browse through?

Does it really matter? I'm sure as we get older, we'll lose our interest in the websites we enjoy at the moment. Whatever future generations of human kind decide to sculpt the internet into is their business. As far as I'm concerned, I'm already starting to lose interest in the internet every year. Pretty soon I won't be using it for too much besides news, information and doing assignments.

If Jay got the portal up I'm sure SPP would go on long enough for him to live off the money. I don't think you realize how many kids like stick figures.

We've only got 3 years of existence left, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Internet will be exactly the same as now in 20 years (Assuming we're not taken over by some communist fascist Government which bans the internet). The only things that will change are:

1) The people.
2) The durr hurr meme's im so cool!1!! over 9000.
3) The topics of conversation.

I think you might have an extra 1 there. Web 2.0 is a very recent idea.

The web has obviously changed a lot since the 90's, and I doubt it just stops evolving all of a sudden. It has become a lot more interactive, entertaining, and important as a source for info. In 1995, how often did people hop online to find out what a "Bismuth crystal" is? Now in 2009, is there anyone who doesn't do just that?

As for stickpage, well, it's already been around for a heck of time, and I doubt it's going anywhere. Unless some much superior competitor pops up, or CJ decides to call quits on it all.

An average stickfigure animation in 10 years would probably be made by a 5-year-old and better than what I can do now.
Scary

I can't tell you what they would animate with but making it in Pivot would be like using a pocket knife to do a chainsaw's work.

1. Go
2. ****
3. Yourself

Yeah, yeah, that checks out.

..Hold..

Okay, right, right. After vigorous calculation and 3 near-death experiences, I've deduced that your statement, proposed to contain four words, in fact only contains three. You may wish to do a follow-up study in a few days, though. I'll be available.
