Whats the benefit of being an atheist anyways? Why not live in ignorance thinking there is an afterlife, if you are right, we only get one shot, and not everyone can take that. So let them think there is an afterlife. Sheesh. They aren't hurting you. If someone says there is a god, why correct them? Why not keep your opinions to yourself, them saying there is a god, doesn't hurt you, there being a christian president, and not an atheist one, doesn't hurt you. How does it in anyway affect you actually? He wouldnt make any other new laws, besides those restricting other peoples beliefs, any other law would only reflect his political party. People pray around you so what? They don't force you to join in.

And if someone asked if you were christian, you could just respectfully tell them you didn't believe in that, instead of trying to shove facts in their face. And I guarantee they wouldn't be prejudice to you, as long as you were respectful, but I'm sure respectful means to you bleeding out scientific facts about why you are right, instead of just finding a way of stopping at I don't believe that.

I can also guarantee that personally, I am surrounded by way more seriously devout Christians, (that are crazier than the ones sourrounding you), than you are on a day to day basis, and its not as bad as you make it out to be.

This and a thousand times this. I've always wondered why athiests think it's bad for christains to not be afraid of death.

Losing your innocence is similar to losing religion; once its gone, it never comes back. Once you stop believing, it's impossible to start again (I know there are exceptions, but in those cases the people were probably never truly Atheist, only agnostic)

And on a day-to-day basis, you are completely right. Religions fuel prejudice, however, and there are many wars to prove it. There's nothing wrong with religion in itself, only its side-effects.

I agree with that, to an extent. As far as my limited history skills go, the last war caused by religion (besides the war in the middle east right now, with the suicide bombing) was a few hundred years ago. People are generally smart, now.

I put it there after you deleted yours then posted a slightly modified version below the old one, making it look like a double post and a reply to nothing.

According to Automation's thread that was revived, I would believe so.

Christians - Ignorant as shit
Agnostics - Awesome
Athiests - Arrogant and intolerant as fucking shit

This above graph simply shows the facts of life on a generalized scale, but still true to the majority of the populations split between these three beliefs.

The above scale shows a complete lack of understanding for the meaning of agnosticism. The above poster is confused about the usage of the words "belief" and "knowledge" and needs an English lesson, like pretty much everyone who seems to think that agnosticism is a middle ground between theism and atheism.

Basically, the sort of self-proclaimed "agnostics" Jeremy thinks are so awesome are these moronic fence sitters who place all atheists at the extreme end of a spectrum, and refuse to engage in actually learning anything about religion because they have their heads too far up their asses to understand that religion actually does effect the world in quite a big manner. They would rather say "You're both just as wrong as the other, we're so great because we just stay here in the middle". They fabricated this middle-ground and built a fence out of straws to place their asses firmly and maintain an attitude that everyone else is below them for their arrogance and ignorance, and fail to see the irony of their position.

Jeremy, I have never in my life physically attacked, verbally assaulted, or excluded anyone for having religious beliefs. What I have done is write essays and posts criticizing their position, the same way a republican might criticize a democrat, or a libertarian might an authoritarian. And yet you are seriously equating my WRITING OF WORDS (And not even violent ones, I'm rarely one to resort to ad hominem attacks) with the ****ing holocaust. I write an essay, and it's an act of INTOLERANCE? I mean, if my essay were advocating the arrest, torture, or persecution of the religious I'd somewhat agree with the classification, but saying that someone is incorrect and explaining why I think that they are is being INTOLERANT? When I only have 3 close friends that are open atheists and have more than 10 close friends that are theists and yet I've never stopped being a friend to any of them for their religious beliefs, or even treated them any different than my other friends, I must be SO intolerant. Jeremy, you have got one of the loosest definitions of intolerance I've ever heard in my life.

Thanks for completely side stepping the first point I made, and then continuing to completely misunderstand what I was saying.

First of all, I like how you said that agnosticism isn't the middle ground between religion and atheism, but then called "moronic fence sitters" Agnostics, so...which is it? Are they on the fence (middle ground) or aren't they?

What does CHRISTIANITY (IE: the belief in Christ, popular mostly in America, NOT FUCKING ISLAM AND OTHER VIOLENT BELIEFS.) Do that wrongly? And don't use maniac extremists to justify your crusade against Christianity(LOL IRONY) And no, the large number of extremists doesn't regard anything to the belief other than ITS FUCKING POPULAR DURR. And thats not even my main point. My first point was that there is NOTHING(read ABSOLUTLEY ZERO) wrong with believing in a christian afterlife. If people aren't comfortable with the theory that nothing happens after we die, then leave them be. IF they aren't bothering you with there beliefs(which they aren't) Then leave them alone. But you don't leave them alone, you think they are stupid, you criticize their beliefs openly, for what reason? Because your mommy forced you to go to church for a few sundays? AWWWW SWO SWAD WITTLE ASH HAD TO BE BWORED FOR A FEW HOURS.

And secondly no, agnostics can be anyone who doesn't decide to choose any side in these stupid fights and ridiculous beliefs and disbelief's. You think they are the arrogant ones when 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of atheists are ****ing annoying condescending arrogant dickheads like you are. They idolize dawkins like he is a god (SEE: YOU, YOU ****ING ASS) When he isn't anything but a prick with a good vocabulary and no humility. And they just as likely to be ignorant of when they are wrong as religious zealots are.

I don't remember comparing your posts to the holocaust, which is weird because that's something I would remember. No I said you were disrespectful, and you are. I remember you telling a story about how kids were picking on you because of your atheism, boy it sure seems unlikely those kids were telepathic, and had to read your mind to find out. Or maybe you felt like you needed to tell someone your beliefs, or maybe tell them how wrong theirs were. But I bet if you had done it respectfully, that shit wouldn't have happened.

Lastly, I very seriously doubt you don't treat your friends differently based on their beliefs. In fact I find that impossible. With how against you are of any possible type of Christianity you are, I doubt you treat them better in real life. Either that or you are lying to them or to us.

Fuck you, I don't care about ADHIMINMINMENE HURRH UHUR.
