You can be good at drawing a hand, or eye or foot or whatever. But I don't think one person can be all around good at art since Art is all based on opinions. A doodle of a penis can be good looking to one person but total shit to another.

If people like your works, I guess, in a relative way, you are "good" at it.

Being good at something: I take that as being able to create a work that pleases someone. It doesn't have to please everyone or even a few people. Just one person.

Well... theres a well known phrase.

You can please some of the people , most of the time.
You can please most of the people , some of the time.
But you can never please all of the people , all of the time.

So pretty much yeah you can be good at art IMO.

Of course you can be good at art. Art isn't only drawing and shading. Playing music, directing, filming, and, of course being creative. But, it's also a matter of opinion, I think I'm an averagely good artist when it comes to drawing, singing, and playing trumpet. Animating, I'm pretty good at, but I have had many people say I'm not too good, but that's only because they can do or have seen better. Just because someone is better than you, doesn't always mean your bad at it. So, basically, yes, anyone can be good at art.

Using society's standards for 'good' art, I'll say that people may have a tendency towards art (which may be described as talent), but in most scenarios learning the basic fundamentals of art may qualify you as a good artist. Opinions may differentiate among individuals but when a majority of the crowd is satisfied you will be considered a decent artist by the general public.

So yes, you can be 'good' at art.

I think that you can be good at drawing, or painting, or a FORM of art, but you cannot be good at ART. You cannot be good at art because GOOD is an opinion, and since everyones opinion is different no one opinion can be correct. Therefore Art cannot be factually good.

You CAN be good at art because theres a big difference between something lazy or created using bad technique and something unique. Believe it or not but there is special technique in abstract art. Its not all just someone throws splashes of paint on a canvas. At least not for the actually unique ones.
