Most immersive game I've ever played. The environments are so lively with NPCs constantly conversing with each other, and an incredible amount of scripted events make it seem like something is always happening. The main story line seems to rely heavily on the player's choices which affect how you go about a quest and how your crew reacts. Also wow, this game doesn't care who it kills off... people are constantly dying because of the choices you make, very bloody and painful deaths.

I heard the game is about 50 hours long if you concentrate on the main story line only... so I guess this game is trying to simulate the "journey", which makes sense. There's also a shitload of game lore that you can find and read, if you're into that sort of thing.

****ing great RPG

Anyone else playing this?

I've read a few threads on another forum concerning DA:O and they basically said what you just said. I watched a gameplay video on it and the fighting seems a tad slow, but yeah, it does seem like a fun game despite that fact.

"Spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate"

This and this alone makes me want it. Although, it's BioWare, so I expect alot of dialogue.

Yeah, there was a lot of dialogue between the NPCs and you in that trailer I watched, but then again, it was only around ten minutes of the game so I can't say for sure.

There is a lot of dialogue but it's all fully voiced and you can tap the escape key to skip through everything if you're not interested. I usually don't care about in game dialogue but I find myself talking to these NPCs a lot because I'm interested in what they have to say.

Oh and about gameplay. It's basically like any RPG game, you point and click and select special moves from a task bar. The animations are amazing. There seems to be a lot to the combat, it was a little overwhelming at first since I don't play rpgs too often.

Yeah, in Mass Effect, say you don't like your character or your class, you have to sit there for ****ing half an hour just to make him and get passed the first ****ing level. It takes for ****ing ever.

Try playing the dungeon in BG2 over and over and over.

I was going to buy this Friday, but for some reason I got Tekken 6 instead. Which is terrible, imo. I can buy it, but it seems pointless now, as from what I've seen it's really time consuming and MW2 is out Tuesday, so it'd just be a waste of money.

Anyway, looks great.
