From what I understand, windows 7 is a pretty solid product, especially compared to Vista, which I can't really think of anything positive to say about

There is no reason to even consider vista with 7 on the table. Such a slick, efficient operating system. I'm running the beta or whatever right now but I hope to do a clean install soon.

Agreed, I suggest 7, it's a huge upgrade. I have a windows 7 laptop and a vista computer, can vista is shit.

Lol, this made me think of that shitty broken promises mac commercial. Their sarcasm is starting to look more like a literal prophecy.
Speaking of that commercial, since when did XP have problems?

It never did. XP was the best OS Microsoft made and now with Windows 7, I say it's a very tight tie between the two. And when Microsoft made Vista it wasn't so they can have an OS "Without the problems of XP" I think it was because it had been so long since they released an OS and people got on them about that so Microsoft said "Fine, here shit".
And I don't think the older OS's had problems either. They're just old.

the computer teacher at my school is a Microsoft developer so we got to use Windows 7 about 2 months before it was released, all I can say is that it is very stable, I've only seen a program crash 1 time. It runs fast and it doesn't ask you to confirm everything you do, so no more are you sure you want to run this, are you sure you want to move this file, etc. There are a lot of new features on it, some are good and some are bad. Overall I would say Windows 7 would be the best operating system to use at the moment.
