this doesn't fit in any of the help areas but whatever. here it goes. I need some help making a top-down shooter on Game Maker 7. here's the story.

2061: The United States government, after years of global attacks, creates a powerful bio-weapon known as V2. they use this in severalviolent confrontations, horribly murdering hundreds to save innocent millions. at first all is well. The other nations begin complaining about the power the US has on the planet, and demand samples, just to "make things fair". America rejects the idea, throwing them into a giant courthouse called the rest of the world.

April 3rd 2063: After 2 years of arguing and debating, The American government agrees to sell the weapons. They demand several dozens of billions of dollars from each country that wishes to buy them, and the right to trespass over their territory whenever they want. before the world realizes it, The United States of America owns the planet, and a massive treasury to sell off any country out there.

June 14th 2064: The Italy event happens. Italy spent all of it's national grosse buying the weapons, pushing them into horrendous poverty. among such tales are the ones of cannibalism and primitive behavior. The UN calls the nation a "dead zone". ironically, the UN falls into poverty and stops after nations begin pulling out. a sect of Catholic terrorists seize the poorly-guarded shipment and release it on the population. nuclear war follows as the desperate countries try to save themselves by carpet-nuking random areas. This powers a massive hurricane that sweeps across the continent, devastates it, and then the infected come. Only Ireland, Greenland, Iceland and the United Kingdom are saved. The others are not so lucky. within months all of Mainland Europe is infected.

July 4th 2066: according to many apocalyptic prophecies, the infection hits America's east coast. within minutes the president is dead. The last hope is to evacuate all the civilians from the last remaining uninfected area, the east coast of Florida, across the peninsula and into the safe house of Sol in what is known as "Operation Beta Storm". It is called "Beta" due to the lack of planning and organization, due mainly to the publics madness. The US military realizes that it would be too dangerous to move through the land itself, but easier to sail around the landmass and set shore on the other side. Mid-sail, however, the "Great Storm" approaches. at 3:57 AM all contact with the humongous fleet of Navy ships is lost.

July 5th 2066: you are one of the few that survives the crash. your ship, the USS Pegasus, is in flames. there are no survivors. luckily for you, you have not made landfall to faar from the city, and you must make it there on foot. there is, however, a horde of zombies between your objective and your position.


So, any ideas, comments, anyting about the story? please i would appreciate these tons. I also need a title for the game.

thanks. I need help with the following:

change the mouse sprite into a crosshairs

move with the WASD keys,

have the crosshairs (character) face mouse

and that the bullets are lines that leave the gun and hit targets. I have all the sprites in the world. can you tell me how to put up images without attaching them?

yeah, i don't really like my name too much though.

I think we better write the code for the Game instead of discussing about that.

I bet someone will see that story and claim it to be true. Then the world will be more of a mess than it already is
