can anyone help me to get started with stick animation

Well, a good way to start animating is the program "PIVOT". In pivot you don't have to worry about redraw and you can simply focus on the basics; easing, anticipation, etc. Look at some tutorials here: http://stickpageportal.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=115 a very good pivot tutorial for beginners is this one, made by Zed, the legendary pivoteer.
