Finish middle school with a diploma of something with physics, maths, chemistry and computer-thingy (Dunno what it's called in english).
Then, I'll look for a study that has something to do with Game Development.

And me and my friends had this idea of starting a Videogame Developing Company, but maybe we'll end up joining an already existing company.

Or make something like Armorgames or something like that. Lol.

I believe this chart makes everything clear:

Image

1. You don't care about this.
2. I have a month or two (plus the matriculation exams) left of this.
3. Obligatory military service starts in 2011, so I have nothing better to do than work.
4. Obligatory military service starts, lasts for at least 6 months.
5. Hopefully I'll get into some of the "Universities of Applied Sciences" that I will be applying to after point 1. Number one choices are educations in graphic design.
6. This is merely continuation of point 5.
∞. "The real life."

I'm at a weird place in my life where I actually am not sure which way I'm gonna go.This is because I will not continue doing something unless it feels "right" to me. We'll see.

this this a thousand times this. i really have no idea what I want to do. for a while I thought i was going to be an animator and pretty much do what Cronos was going to. but now I don't know, i've gathered all the things I feel will help me in deciding, but I either don't know the profession or it's something I'm gonna have to make up myself.

i enjoy listening to people tell stories or just talk and i've never had any trouble not seeing from their point of view, it's kinda not really a good thing sometimes since that leads to constantly questioning and confusing my beliefs on a pretty much day to day basis.

i love philosophy, especially metaphysics although I didn't know it was an actual thing until recently, I just thought I had different way of thinking.

different cultures/religions and how people behave and why they behave in the way they do has been something i've always enjoyed reading or thinking about.

eh I don't know, those are the things that have been with me since childhood, I know I can't do a 9-5 but besides that I'm pretty stumped.

you guys that got your life all worked out for you already gots it made, hope all youse reach it.

Chronos, do some actual work experience in animation. See how you like really before you become an animator. I did some and it put me off the idea. Can't really imagine how bad it would be if you did a 4 year degree in it then realized you hated it.

Doing computer science(multimedia programming) next year hopefully for four years then will probably not have much trouble getting a job in IT/development and some cash.

@2-D that course is based around animation (if you didn't already guess) not model making. They probably use premade models from the school to practice animation, which is why they would look the same. Just guessing.

Chronos srsly, you don't need to go to school to learn animation. There are more than enough resources available on the internet from video tutorials, to blogs, to dedicated forums. If you put some effort into exploring all of this you could be well on your way before you even finish regular school

Go with my backup plan. You'd love it. Study philosophy for another 8 years or so and then become a professor of it. You'd get university-provided accommodation (should you want it), more free time than you'd know what to do with, plus if you need any extra money (because admittedly, the salary's not great) you can put "Professor" in front of your name on all the books you write, thus trebling your sales. It's genius.

Yep, animation is actually pretty easy. You probably need some qualification to get hired, though. Unless you made good contacts or something.

I probably don't need to, but I honestly want to. I can't say I really want to complete the Computer animation coarse at Edith Cowan, because I know it will be fairly shit, and not entirely based on character animation.

I do however really want to complete the other animation mentor coarse. Seriously, if I was 18 and had 17k to spare I would still wait until I had finished the Edith Cowan coarse, because I still want a good amount of knowledge before going into it.

aye one of the first careers I thought of, I don't remember why I dismissed it, probably to do something with needing something more goal oriented but I'm not positive, plus then I didn't know shit about myself. I'm gonna go look at exactly what professors do

thanks mengs

animationmentor gives free classes every once in a while, or not classes but a chance to ask them questions and they'll teach you a thing or 2 also, sign up for their newsletter and they'll tell you when. i think it's like 2 or 3 hours long, a good while anyways.

For me, depending on the marks I get in 13 days I will be following one of these paths.

ATAR(Pretty much the same as Cronos' TEE or whatever)< 78:
Going to Uni studying computer science game technology degree for 3 years then hopefully a masters.

Atar~=78 working for a year then going to uni.

Atar > 80 going to uni with a couple of scholarships.

All I will say is **** that English paper 1.

Anyway, nah the scholarships I have applied for are course specific. A couple are ones that are like, you get x you get scholarship. Hell one of em is pretty much, you get in you get moneys.
