I cannot even believe the shit that is going on in senate. Joe Lieberman destroying the medicare buy in, as well as the public option, utterly and completely ruining any real reform while Obama sits by idly letting the republican senators inspire fear and anger through propaganda and purposeful delays in the senate. Now we have a tattered, broken excuse of a bill, and millions of ignorant Americans fueled by hatred perpetrated by fox news to spew racism and threats of violence. Our senate is completely bought out by health insurance companies, with Joe Lieberman as the big cherry on top to rub our dysfunctional government in our faces. The banks are doing jack shit to help give anyone loans with the $700,000,000,000 we gave them with 0% interest, and there is no real financial regulation bill on the horizon.
All of this as Obama hides from making any comment or taking any controversial stance at all. He seems to not notice the racism resurfacing, the selfish acts of the senate for political gains, the complete lack of change in the way our investment banks are risking our money for massive profit, and the corruption and complete fraud that is our health care industry.
If there is a single republican on this forum, just try justifying this bullshit. I ****ing dare you.

My American politics is shakey at best, but isn't it the case that they have the majority vote and it should be going through, but they needed a certain number of votes to be able to stop the republicans fillibustering (which, I am told, involves talking about the bill for so long that it never goes through) it and Leiberman's stopped them getting that?

I am 100% for healthcare reform and I know that the teabaggers are just a small minority. Those guys don't even look up to the Republicans, they look up to their radio talk show loonies. If you really think that the GOPs opposition to health care is about racism or socialism you need to take a good hard look at how much the corporations are paying these guys for their votes.
And if you really think that the Republican party is the "shameless" one then it seems you have forgotten just a few years back when the Democrats had anti-war radicals in their ranks and received the same type of negativity for it. The teabaggers don't represent the Republicans.

A similar thing is happening in britain, turns out the incompitent banks have lost everyones money and the gvernment isn't doing **** all about it. And allso the airports are losing everyones bags and leaving them stranded in foreign contries. So I think that british workers are totally useless at everything. But to the point, from what I've heard about the republicans In the senate, they seem to work for saten.

To be fair they didn't lose it; they just leant it to Americans who in turn leant it to people who had no income and no way to pay the money back. Ergo Americans have our money.
