I am in a Samurai Contest right? I think that would mean that I need to work on some sword movements.

Stab:
http://www.truploader.com/view/247234

Currently unfinished, so any suggestions for the next move(s) would be great. As for the trails, I don't think I have the full set. If anyone could link me to it, that'd be great too.

I removed the trails to see if anyone can be any more specific on the movement.

It doesn't look like a stab, i stab would be a movement parallel to the sword's angle, what you have there truthfully looks very powerless.

The technical part looks very well done, but it is lacking power.

Not 100% sure on this, if i'm wrong correct me, but that is what it looks like as a viewer

wait do you mean perpendicular

as for the force aspect, i'm thinking i might have to space it out more or simply remove the trails

QUICKEDIT:
Yeah, I need to space it more heavily. Or maybe make it into a combo of stabs. (there's one suggestion)
I'll do my best to get an edited version up tomorrow.

I think the movement itself is just wrong. He tries to power the attack by having the sword attack in mid-ait from the stick. IMO the movement should be more like this: http://i50.tinypic.com/2a01eop.gif (not posting direct img cuz it's your thread), but that's your call.

Unless you wanted to go for a stab.

For a stab, I think he shoud have lowered the sword to be parallel with the ground before he stabbed. It looks more like a lunge-slash thingy.

Also, the 2nd trail you applied to the "stab" was defiantly wrong. Since the sword wasn't really moving from such an upwards direction, the trail just seemed to point up while the sword itself was moving at another direction. (I think I explained it well enough D:)

thread's called "stab" for a reason
direct img's are fine if they are purely example

lunge is fiercer, so i'm fine with that fierceness

the attack looks better without the trails imo
what i did with that second trail was point to the onionskin, but i guess it wasn't the right thing to do

Dark, take a look at some of Terkoiz's RHGs. FLLFFL uses a sword, so you can probably pick up some technique there.

Well, I think that you should definitely throw some old school effects in there. You know where the screen disappears and the slash is the only thing visible.
