Pronounced Elfen Li ed, not lied.
Now generally I wouldn't admit to watching Anime but this has to be the best Anime I have ever seen.
I was literally near tears once the credits started rolling, which is pretty impressive considering I haven't cried in more than a year (that's just how damn manly I am)
Also, just in case being emotionally involved with characters doesn't get you there's a gratuitous amount of nudity and gore. Mostly at the same time.
Since I didn't download it myself you'll have to find it if you really want to watch it. If you can find the first episode and watch the first five minutes of that (in which there is excessive amounts of nudity and gore) and not get interested, well, yeah.
Wheee

The important thing here is that it's not produced Elfin Lied

You should watch some other anime then. I watched a lot, and Elfen lied was one of my first so the experience should be bigger, but it was cool. Wasn't as amazing as some people say it is though. Pretty short, decent animation, story and theme is good though. Def. Enjoyed it a lot
Spoiler:
Doesn't she live at the end though? I remember you see her shadow standing at the door where the kid lives, so she lives

Nooooo
Dubs are always terrible. (Note, I have not seen the dub for this show as I do not willingly subject myself to torture) Watch it with subs.
The eyes are big in animes because Japanese people have an inferiority complex, they believe themselves to be imperfect and so attempt to make their creations look perfect (they're white and sexy with huge eyes). Also, people love eyes, if you draw a face the eyes will always be bigger than actual proportions.
@ Dark
Yes. I wasn't sad until the end though D:
The wincest occurs in like the 4th episode anyways :/

Spoilers, they are for monkeys

Im at the 7th episode right now as Im writing this and will watch it immediately after. Its really good so far, Im pretty much hooked. The wincest(Fail imo, Yuka is a dumb bitch) occurs in episode six, where Lucy really develops into an interesting character, I like Lucy alot more then Nyu (For obvious reasons. Also idk if it's just some weird uncommon fetish but I always get a turn on when Lucys around. I guess I just like girls who are, crazy and you have no chance against her in any way at all.
Oh yeah, and the English dub honestly isn't that bad.

Damn, that was, amazing, probably my favorite anime (Note this means nothing as the only other anime I ever really thought was alright was FLCL) ever. So attached to the characters, the ending was so damn crazy I just about screamed out loud, then the credits rolled and I cried, as did Schwa before me. I loved this, I love it, and I will love it. It made me so emotionally distraught. God damn I sound like some weaboo who is watching a bad Asian Soap Opera.
Spoilers
Also, I wonder if the creators went into any more depth after what happend right at the very end, I mean, that WAS Lucy right? Why did the clock start working and the music box stop? It got really tense there, I hope it was Lucy and not Nyu/Myu or however you say it, kind of annoyed with her voice.
Yeah, I double posted but whatever.

if i wanted to watch with subs i'd read the ****ing manga. a bad dub is better then listening to a language I will never understand. ****ing weeaboo, EVERY dub is bad in weeaboo eyes, i've never heard of someone say an anime was dubbed well, and i've never watched an anime were I thought "wow this dubbing sure sucks!"

The only dub I've enjoyed was the DBZ dub. Listening to Jap guys screaming = Annoying as shit.

You should put spoilers in invisible text so that people are less tempted to read them.
******SPOILERS****** [Don't read if you plan to actually watch the anime]
I can of course, only come up with theories, but here they are. Nyu is simply a split personality for Lucy, in other words she is just a coping method to deal with the abuse she's suffered. Since she's overcome the past she doesn't need the coping mechanism anymore.
The music box ties them to the past and represents how the past is present in the present. It stops meaning they are no longer tied to the past, which is further symbolized by the clock working, meaning they can now move forward.
That's the best I can come up with.
Also I never cried, I almost cried. I was very choked up.
