Did you import the entire animated .gif into gimp as one object?
If so, you'll need to find a way to separate the frames, blur the ones you want, and then put it together again (This would take a long time and be difficult). Basically, is blurring pivots was easy (or even possible, I'm just speculating with the above) then everyone would do it, yet I've never seen it done.

probably, blur is a pretty basic tool.

Well, OP, if you have separate frames available and access to a blur tool, then its just a matter of blurring the frames you want...

When you try to use the blur effect do you have one of the frames selected or the whole animation?

Define Access. I can separate the frames but when I go to the filter>blur all the choices are grayed out

One frame

I meant a blur tool in the toolbar, not the menus.
Feb 7, 2010 2:37 AM #544304
no its not in the toolbar

Well with no knowledge of gimp, all I can say is find what type of thing makes the menu blur available and then try to convert the frames you want blurred that type of format.
