It was an important part of the American Revolution. It showed that the Americans weren't afraid to stand up to the King, so I guess it's good because it helped form a new nation.

might want to clarify for our non-american users
personally, i think it's the face of hypocrisy. one minute, the conservative media is chastising liberals for protesting Bush's tactics and call them "un-american" for using their right to protest. now that we have a liberal democrat in office, these same people will single-handedly organize a series of protests on a man they pretty much throw shit at for everything he does just because of who he is. **** them

Not a big fan of tea, but it will do.

Tea parties in general are fantastic fun. The Boston tea party was a travesty.
I have heard of this particular group before, I believe. Were they the ones who called themselves the tea-baggers originally?
But yeah, as has been said, you need to make your first posts in these threads longer, more detailed, and clearer. I came in here ready to flame Yanks in general for rebelling when we gave them the lowest taxes anywhere in the empire, and I find that I have to flame only a specific subset of Yanks for idiocy. I can't cope with this.

Yeah, I should have explained in much more detail.

total waste of a thread, if were non-american. I think the tea party symbolized a great stance in american history, as it started the break from the english rule, and- holy crap, shut the f*** up!
and yes, modern tea party's,big meeting's of political beleivers, and i don't really care that much.....

It's funny how people will come onto a forum, a website that is built around the written word, and then refuse to read.

That's like saying it's okay to stab someone in the foot if you use a toothpick instead of a knife like you did everyone else.

lol
To be fair, we stabbed ourselves too, and only did it so you'd be on the floor when the French shot at where your head had been. But it doesn't really matter. It's all in the past now. And it's not even what the thread's about, much to my disappointment.

Me too, because THAT would be an interesting debate: the righteousness of a 200-year-old war.
But anyway, these idiots are insane. Firstly, the entire poitn of the original teaparty was that it was a VIOLENT BOYCOTT, not a mere disgruntled protest. It seems like modern "revolutionaies" like Glenn Beck don't have the courage of their convictions.
How do these people think a revolution works? Do they think that they can just walk up to the government, say "We don't like you and would like to replace you", and the government is just going to immediately throw in the towel? NO. You have to ****ing FIGHT tooth and nail, FORCE off tyranny.
Oh wait a minute. I know why these idiots aren't living up to the name they've highjacked because they AREN'T EXPERIENCING TYRANNY.
What? Your government wants to give healthcare to people who can't afford their own? Those MONSTERS!
