Anyone see it? Is it any good? I'm a huge fan of the novels and I'd rather not watch this if this is what it looks like, an action flick.

So has anyone watched this movie and has also read the books? If so what did you think.

First 3 quarters were ****ing immense and then somehow the ****ing style changed and ruined the ending with no explanation. Literally it was like 24fps for the entire movie and then it went at like a 36 fps pace and I couldnt keep up it was just like ... What the ****?

I saw it and though it was pretty good on its own. I also saw it with with someone who is a huge fan of the novels. As I remember, they thought it was good. There are some minor differences between the book and the movie that revolve around watson. If you're going to watch it, don't have really high expectations. Hollywood didn't ruin it, but it might not be what the die hard fan really wanted.

It's a Guy Ritchie adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. You're getting what you'd expect.

Well its not as methodical as the novels, and neither are Holmes and Watson... they're both pretty much the same old guys, except they're now exceptional fighters, agile and rapid wise-crackers and the entire homosexual subtext has been cranked up to enjoyably amusing levels...
