I rarely get nightmares myself, but when I do, my mind loves thinking up clever ****ing ways to scare me. Or in last night's occasion, to hurt me badly. :( But I'll mention that later.

One time, I dreamt that I was in the shower, (with clothes on ) and the water was warm and all that and everything was fine, and then 15 minutes later I go to turn off the water, which is two knobs on the wall that are for hot and cold. They were shaped as hands, palms out and outstretched. It occurs to me that this is weird, so I press down on the hands to turn off the water, and then follow the back of the palm into the wall, where i can make out a wrist imprinted into it, and then the arm, and I follow it up to the shoulder, and then up to the head, and then I see its face. Which is staring straight at me with a furious and agonized expression that sends me stumbling out of the shower and running away. He'd been staring at me for 15 minutes.

The second dream that was just last night... I thought that I woke up in my bed, and I turned to see this dark skinned girl just standing there in front of my bed, looking at me. I get scared and sit up, and look for something on the counters to grab and attack her with. But before I could move much at all, she levelled this gun at me and shot me with it. I knew she hit me in the leg, but I hadn't felt anything at all. But then I felt my leg underneath the kneecap was hurting a bit, and then the pain kept getting worse and worse and worse until I couldn't move and I was just grabbing my leg in agony. I thought you couldn't feel pain in dreams but I guess this was an exception. It lasted for a whole hour, maybe two hours, until the pain finally died down and I was left paralyzed on the bed. I heard the girl say, "That wasn't supposed to happen." as if the thing she shot at me wasn't supposed to stop hurting, and then I woke up.
I was creeped out for a bit, but it was 4:30 in the morning so I went back to sleep.
And then I "woke up" again in my room, and it was still dark out. But then I heard that girl's voice again. She said, "You're not gonna get away that easy." And then she shot me again.
So I woke up at 8, feeling too shitty to go to school so I stayed here. Now I don't want to go to fall asleep again cause that psycho native girl could be waiting for me again. I still feel where she shot me and it stings.

So anyways... do you guys get ****ed up nightmares like this?

I somtimes get really vivid nightmares, but they're not as much about being physically harm, they're just terrible mindfuck all the time.
I found that "getting in touch" with my dreams helped me though. I recently got into lucid dreaming again and to get my dream recall back up, so I started a dream journal. The idea is basically to have a notebook or something next to your bed and as soon as you wake up, you write down anything you recall dreaming. Not only does this help you get a great dream recall (back when I was really into this I recalled 12-15 dreams a week), help your recognise your dream signs to increase chances of getting lucid, but also lets you kind of build a "relationship" with your dreams if you get what I mean, because you really think about them more. This helps me get rid of nightmares or at least it's made them less of a pain when they do occur. You should check up on some of this, all the stuff behind dreams is really interesting.

I get really f*cked up nightmares all the time. I did something similar to what Uber is saying above, I kept my cellphone with me and started writing down the dreams. I found this to be more effective than a notebook, cause when you take time to switch on a light etc, you tend to be 'out' of the dream.

It helped me notice little clues in dreams, and I was in lucid dreams more often. I also found that after a while, it was a stimulating experience, and I was hoping for more bad dreams than plain ones. I would also frequently 'wake up' within a dream. That quickly ended because if I wake up, and my cell phone is not beside me, I know I'm still dreaming. Then it's time to kick that dream's ass.

Yeha, that "waking up" is called a False Awakening. I wish I had those more often, because every time I do, I get lucid.

Lucid dreaming is when you realize that you dream. And then you can control everything and you're basically God in your own world. Look it up, it's amazing.

Used to happen to me too Gohdonz. But the more it happens, the more you learn to control it. Sometimes the biggest challenge is keeping control, very often people go into lucid dreams and then FORGET it and slip back into a dream world.

Its amazing though, once in a while you will get really lucid dreams and everything just works. You can fly, fight, do whatever shit you want to whoever you want. It is a world with NO CONSEQUENCES.

For all reference on this, there is a great forum: www.dreamviews.com
I'm there too, with the same username. I've got a Dream Journal in there, too, catch up on that.

You've made your dream journal public? Youre either a very decent human being or a brave, brave man.

Pfft, what do I care. There might be some things I don't want to share, but then I won't. Apart from that it's pretty cool to hear other people's views on your dreams.
