The last thread was for CoD4, but considering the popularity of MW2, it makes more sense to go with that.
This is for the Xbox 360. I apologise to the PC and PS3 players.

I'll just get straight in to the rules.

Modern Warfare 2: ProMod Tournament Rules[/SIZE]

-NOTE: It is a good idea to be level 70 when taking part because of the weapon restrictions.
Level before joining if necessary, or if you feel you don't need to level as you're comfortable
your available guns, that is fine, too.

There is no date set for the start of this at the moment.

Now for the Tournament itself.
Each player that applies will have to form a team of 3 members (Including theirself). This team can be members of the tournament who don't have a team of their own, or they can ask their friends to join them. They will have to name their team, and they must apply to the rules. Any rule breaking will result in the whole team losing the round, and losing points.

Each team will be put in to a Group of 4. These 4 teams will all face each other in 3v3 matches with the above rules applied. They will do this twice. Each team will choose their favoured map and side.

A win will give the winning team +3 points. A loss will leave the team with nothing.
An example:

Team Name | Matches Played | Won | Lost | Points |

Team A 5 5 0 15
Team B 5 4 1 12
Team C 5 3 2 9
Team D 5 0 5 -3

A pretty obvious example, but the clearest it can be. Very simple.
Team D has -3 points as a member of Team D broke the rules. Which results in an immediate loss, as earlier stated, along with that point deduction.

The top two teams of each group will go through in to a Knockout stage. In that example, Team A and B go through.
The Knockout rounds are an average Tournament round where two teams will play against each other to go through to the next round against another team that has been through the same process. It continues until there is only one team remaining.
In the KO Rounds neither team will choose which side and map should be played, instead it will be chosen by an outside force know as "The Spectator". The Spectator will watch over matches to ensure there is no rule breaking. The Spectator will always be the host, to ensure that no single player has a large advantage over the last.

As you've listed 6, I propose we do a 6v6. As not many people seem to be joining overall. I did, however, get asked to host a FFA Tournament on TSC, a small community. But It seems to be taken a little too seriously, which I really wasn't looking for.

Anyway, if you guys fancy a 6v6, My team and Razr's team against your 6-man team, let me know. I'll set something up sooner than I would get this tournament done.

Why can't you use the barrett?

I'm not completely sure, I've just added some variations to the "ProMod" rules. I'd assume because it's fully automatic, so people would likely spray at close-range, making the fear of getting in to close encounters a little less than it would be with a Bolt-action rifle.

What I dislike about ProMod on this is the fact that if you want to use an Assault Rifle you basically need to be level 70, as the AK-47 is extremely powerful and the one used most of the time.

You can include the Tar if you want. It does a lot of damage and you don't have to be lvl 70.
I see why the barrett might not want to be included. I often do spam if they are about to stab me.

I was considering replacing the AK with the TAR, or maybe the F2000 as not many people enjoy using it.

Add the tar, and consider allowing cold-blooded, also, why the hell is this search and destroy?

Are you promoting a campfest?

Changing out the AK for one of the earlier assault rifles would work if you're careful since it would make this more accessible to people like me who have only half arsed their way up to the high 20's.

I'm assuming you've never played ProSim?
Cold-Blooded isn't needed. No attachments, no kill-streak rewards. Hardline is there for the ultimate uselessness. Perks aren't disabled because Sleight of Hand makes the gameplay more intense. Steady Aim is there because it's the only 3rd tier perk that doesn't really make a large impact on the gameplay.

Search and Destroy is the most tactical game mode. "Camping" on S&D is extremely logical when you're defending. It's what makes the game mode interesting, you're pushing against what seems to be a solid wall. If the attack is strong, the game mode becomes 10x better.

The AK is easily the most dominant Assault Rifles, so it does seem like a good idea to replace it with another weapon. The only problem is finding one that isn't going to be used more than the rest. The TAR along with a game mode that has Half health seems a little diabolical. It has the fire rate, the power, the accuracy. It has a minor recoil which is easily compensated for.
Maybe just the M4, M16 and F2000 will be fine, as the MP5K and Vector are in there aswell.

Maybe the SCAR would work, same damage as the Tar but about half the rate of fire which is traded off for accuracy. Other than that, removing it does even the odds for people not at 70 yet.

I have never played pro simulation, and i guess S&D is the most tactical gametype, i just don't enjoy it...

The only reason i would suggest swapping out AK for the Tar is for those who have yet to reach 70
