Me either. I never really understand why surreal things like this are seen as "art" or "good" etc,
Visually and symbolically interesting... there's not much else to it.
like how Kitsune was saying CGI just didn't get it. What's to get? There wasn't much depth / deeper meaning, sure the animation's good but it's nothing new. Just a quest to find true love but it's always out of reach or something? A little chiché. If someone would elaborate on why this is so good, I might understand....
And no I'm not trolling.
Not that he doesn't get it the plot, it's that he doesn't understand how to appreciate something like surrealism.
There wasn't much "deeper meaning" but the symbols used through the whole thing could be interpreted as aid for character development or something else. It's all just some fun mindplay. Like when the girl matches her shadow with the bell's shadow (I'm usually guessing church bell when it's something like this), there's this connection between the girl and god or faith. When the girl's head turns into a dandelion there's a symbol of reproducing, as to show when the male character enters. The value of things that escape realism aren't the solid meanings or correct interpretations that other genres can have, it's just really thought provoking. That's why it's so fun.
