One of the most fascinating animated shorts I've ever seen.

Can't understand... or don't give a shit?? Hey if the presentation of the video doesn't interest me what makes you think the subject matter will. Perhaps I should get high and watch it again to some new music.....

Oh you just don't understand then, okay. Don't try to sell it as you being apathetic though. That's as transparent as Irish springtime air.

I already told you it didn't manage to catch my attention over all of the things that I disliked about it... doesn't that inherently make it boring to me as I said. do I have to simplify this any further?

Me either. I never really understand why surreal things like this are seen as "art" or "good" etc, like how Kitsune was saying CGI just didn't get it. What's to get? There wasn't much depth / deeper meaning, sure the animation's good but it's nothing new. Just a quest to find true love but it's always out of reach or something? A little chiché. If someone would elaborate on why this is so good, I might understand....

And no I'm not trolling.

uh because it's visually interesting and Dali was a genius in the field of surreality

It's art first, a story second, stop trying to "get it" and just appreciate it for the medium it was meant to be.

Well when you put it like that.
I liked it, it was trippy.

Visually and symbolically interesting... there's not much else to it.

Not that he doesn't get it the plot, it's that he doesn't understand how to appreciate something like surrealism.
There wasn't much "deeper meaning" but the symbols used through the whole thing could be interpreted as aid for character development or something else. It's all just some fun mindplay. Like when the girl matches her shadow with the bell's shadow (I'm usually guessing church bell when it's something like this), there's this connection between the girl and god or faith. When the girl's head turns into a dandelion there's a symbol of reproducing, as to show when the male character enters. The value of things that escape realism aren't the solid meanings or correct interpretations that other genres can have, it's just really thought provoking. That's why it's so fun.

I thought the animation was nice, and thought some of the scenes stood out like they were supposed to. As for CGI, just leave him alone. If he doesn't want to enjoy it, let him be. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I think the obstacle most people hit when looking at an animation like this, is that they tend to sort of look for a 'story' or they start to fish around for details about characters.

This wasn't meant to tell a story. It was supposed to communicate certain emotions by combining surreal images with music (and I think it was a grand success at that) and to transport the viewer into another world with its own rules and griefs.

The written medium is the best way to tell stories. Visual mediums are always better used when presenting emotions, ideas and just new experiences.

The last one was there for a few days. Put it up as a dare from a member who shall remain unnamed.

And yes, that is why you felt feelings. I actually thought the music played almost as big a part as the visuals in this one.
