You realize how pointless it is to delete a thread about hacking the site on a site ALREADY HACKED?
They used information in those files to help hack the site, I'm sure, excuse me for wanting as few people as possible to have access to it.
Congratulations man, you hid forum information from regular members when the people who could use it HAD ALREADY USED IT TO HACK THE SITE AND MAKE THEMSELVES UNTOUCHABLE BY ANYONE ELSE, YOU DUMBASS. And this forum was hacked from regular people not admins, so obviously not only the admins could do anything about it.
So what I'm supposed to get from this is that "regular members" hacked the site, using certain files and information that only a few people had access to, but the fact that the information was posted in public view of
more "regular members" isn't a problem at all? The actual cause of all of this was being repeated, on a larger scale, but since it happened once you figured "eh, **** it, the damage is done"? And you're
defending this?
I could have deleted that thread sure, but 1. It was pointless to do that, and 2. Yes I did think someone would know how to use the information. Seriously drop the self righteousness already, you were not even in the situation at all why are you even trying to talk about this, you have no idea about any of it.
You just said they made themselves untouchable, now suddenly any old member could have done something to stop this, just by using the same files the hackers were using? Make up your ****ing mind already.
And I'm not being self-righteous about this, all I said was that I deleted highly sensitive data about the forum's local servers, something I assumed would be standard procedure. I'm not acting like a hero for it, obviously it didn't help.
All I said was that sensitive data was leaked, we were hacked, nobody did anything about it and the forum went further to shit because of it. The mod forum sections were just as quiet as ever during this whole thing, nobody seemed even remotely concerned. None of that is false, yet you're attacking me personally just for pointing out a collective failure to manage a serious problem. What else would you call this?
