I changed the sentences in the first example. You stripped the meaning of the sentence down to the bare syntax, which is not how sentences work. When you emphasize 'I' in 'I went' the topic of the sentence is not whether or not you went, or where you were going, but rather that you were the only one that went. This is clearly a different concept than one certainly going, but not that they are the only one going.

Emphasis is not part of the sentences though. You just said "I went" twice, so the meaning stayed "I went" twice. Whatever you may imply has nothing to do with the sentence.

Emphasis *is* part of sentence structure, actually. It's one of the most basic concepts in all of linguistics.
