In my opinion, on Australia no one really thinks about anything apart from "Hell yeah, we're Australian. Lets drink to it!". The fact that Australia Day is marking the landing of the white man onto Australia is kinda lost amidst the partying and other celebrations. It's kinda both patriotic and celebrating invasion and genocide, just we only see the patriotic part.
That is an epic song. Epic lol @ Chinese fast food.

It's celebrated 6 days after it's supposed to be.

Just because it's associated with a day that's not so good doesn't mean that's actually *what they're celebrating*. Australia Day is totally okay.

Hmm Australia day.
Well lets get our shit straight.
We invaded a country, we displaced a civilization. To this day, we still discriminate against people in the aboriginal community. Australia day celebrates our colonization of Australia, which you could or could not call the invasion of Australia. The thing is most people don't celebrate Australia day for this reason. Most people just celebrate it for a good old time and for the sake of living in a great country.
If you ask me we should just scrap that day, and make a new one that just celebrates Australians for who they are.

There's a lot of problems with our natives at the moment.
I don't really go out of my way to celebrate Australia day anyway, but if I was going to, I wouldn't until we fixed as many of the problems as we can. No man left behind.
