What is your opinion on Universalism?
Mine would be that it's a good rule unless your a scum fuck who enjoys rape.
Because nobody likes rapists.

I think it's a good rule. But to anyone who doesn't know what universalism is. Allow me to explain.
If you are not sure if something is the right thing to do you imagine if the entire world did it and see if it's a good place to live in. For example. Let's say your going to donate 100$ to a hospital but you wouldn't be able to go out tonight and you would eat rice or home-made food instead. If the entire world did that it would be obviously a good world to be in. But I'm going to try to poke a hole in this sheet.

There are a hell of a lot of problems with this system. To name one, it depends on how you categorise your actions. I can't universalise going to my local pub tonight because if everyone did it the sheer mass of people compressed into such a tiny space would probably create a black hole. On the other hand, I can universalise having fun. So should I go to the pub tonight?

So everyone who disagrees with Universalism supports rape? Just because on scenario is universal, doesn't mean all are. Also, I'm pretty sure that science and the laws of physics are universal.

@Pub
But when you are going to your local pub. Everyone is going to their local pub. Everyone doesn't automatically go to your local.

You miss my point. I'm saying that it depends how you word your statement and how specific you are. I could say "Shall I go to my local pub this afternoon?" or if I worded myself differently I could say "Shall I go to The Mitre this afternoon?". I could even say "shall I do what I want this afternoon?". All these questions are semantically the same, but they all have different answers under this system.

All of those questions would result in bad situations, as you can imagine.
So its a bit of a silly ideology if you think about it too deeply, but as a passing thought I reckon its a pretty good moral guideline.

It sounds like one of things your not supposed to think too deep into. Like "do i go to the bar tonight?", if everybody went to the bar that night it wouldnt be a 'bad' world. So there should be nothing wrong with going. If you think too deep into it, start taking into account the bar-fights, and the crimes to be later committed in drunken stupors, then it wouldn't be such a good idea.
