Well, this really does vary drowning on what style of game you wanna make. EG tower defence (TD), shoot'em ups/first person shooters (FPS) etc.

It's actually one of the easier ones as long as he only wants it in 2D. I think we might even have a tutorial on it. If not then we have two which can be used in conjunction with one another. I'll have a look.

Use blenders python 3d game engine for a real fps
Good tutorial.
download blender free here I suggest learning python then c++, then action script (in that order helps);
Also blender is not just a game engine its also a 3d animation and 3d modeling tool and it's all free.

Or you could "aquire" FPS maker 9. Works wonders. To a certain extent.

FPS maker takes no skill and I'm assuming your not 18 by your grammar, so you can't get the free version (even more limited then full). Plus FPS is very limited and you need to continue buying add-ons and parts for a professional game.
