Well some people won't improve, that's kinda the flip side of things there, sometimes you just don't have the aptitude to do certain things
but don't give up before you know I guess

everyone improves, just some takes them a long ass time more than others.
I mean look at reddeath. He used to be butt ugly then he got alot better after like 2 years. He wasnt good but he improved alot.

No that isn't true, there are people that just hit their cap and can't get any further just because of their natural ability. It's like in sports, not anyone can be nba level good at basketball even if they practice all their lives, just because they don't have the talent for it. They might be able to get pretty good just through practice alone, but at a certain point, practice stops being effective

I agree with Drone. You can practice as much as you want but practicing means you're toning old methods. Start experimenting and expand your repertoire. For example, if you've never done angles before, just start doing them. It'll probably look extremely awkward at first but keep at it.

If you aren't failing you aren't trying hard enough.

....So practice but try new things. Thats honestly what practicing is. You discover new things while improving on things you know you need to get better at.

If someone has that mindset, then honestly, they need to change their perspective. I'm not gonna lie, I used to be like that too (and I still am just a bit). But eventually you have to learn, someone elses success is not your failure. Of course, sometimes people just cant change the way they think, and there is nothing others can do to force them to. But the best way to continuing improving, is to know that eventually you WILL improve.

"still am just a bit" how?!?! Who do you look up to exactly? The only people i can think of that's anywhere close to your level is Reb, Hyun, Terkoiz, or f*ckin Disney. But I agree with basically everything here. EVERYONE improves if they get the right training. But as drone said, practice doesn't necessarily make perfect. But that doesn't mean everyone has a certain cap to their skill. They just have to practice newer things. If i hadn't seen a tutorial from Terkoiz, I'd still be making shit like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xgY24pB8ic&feature=youtube_gdata_player and it does require a change in perspective. When I saw the Shock series i instantly thought "terkoiz is da best ever" and before i stared my career in programming i should give animation a try and make something better than shock. Little did i know animation would be so gawdamn hard. I'm still pushing through though, and I'm getting closer to my goal every time i animate. How good you get at something DOES have a limit. That limit is how far you're willing to take it. I'm willing to take animation to my grave, so for all I know, eventually I'll be taking on Terkoiz. So basically, when you see something this legitimately amazing, don't take it as a threat, take it as something you learn from and improve off of until you can make something even better.

No, everyone has a cap to their skill, you don't consistently just keep becoming better if all you do is practice, people have limits, and it's not "how far you're willing to take it," I mean like serious limitations to how much you can improve even while trying new things
as an animator, let's be honest there are a lot of new things you could try and get better in those respective things but you're not going to just keep getting better at those things the more you practice, you'll reach a point where you'll have reached you maximum capacity for that thing
and even while doing new things, getting better at something trivial but new to you isn't necessarily going to make you better as a whole so

You know very little Alpha.

There are tens of thousands of better animators than Terkoiz. From those ten thousand, there are a thousand more.

Yeah this, Terkoiz is not Disney level good dude, you've got some youtubing to do
and hyun is also a perfect example of reaching the best you can be at something and not being able to go further imo
Nothing against the guy but he hasn't made anything that was waaaay better than his old things in a few years
