Intermediate means you got all that down
advanced meaning you take ALL of that to the next level

No, There are no official ranks for animation, nor will there ever will be, I'm not saying you should stop ranking peoples skill level, just saying its not how they actually animate, its just a summed up opinion.

If a guy comes up to me with a tryout and every frame= 1 hit, wouldn't you also say they're at beginner level?
once they understand at least the basic fundamentals of animation like the laws of physics, and simple functions such as motion tween, then they are considered, in my opinion, an intermediate.

There aren't "Official" ranks but it goes like this:
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
Pro
