You're doing that slippery slope thing. Making cloning legal and putting hard research into it is not the same thing as cloning one person over and over until they're the only person in the world.

I never said that. I just said a bunch of people, though the possibility of that happening is another reason why I'm against cloning.

Also what do you mean, 'People have a right to their own genetic makeup by natural means'? I think what you mean by natural is 'usual', which is quite a bad definition of the word.

No, I mean natural. People's genetic identity should not be decided on force by human intervention. It should occur naturally by the genes of the two parents.

And how do people who don't exist yet have rights?

Because they will exist. You can argue whether or not potential rights should legitimately count. I think it should.

They're not losing any opportunities by being cloned.

They're losing their genetic identities, which is unique to each individual.

I would also be hesitant to say that diversity is *always* a good thing. That's a very absolute claim.

Yeah, I put that always in the last minute, but show me a scenario where diversity is bad and I might change my mind.

Also, I see very little good things that could come out of cloning(a full human), and many bad things that could come from it.

...if the brain is developed, knows whats happening and feels depressed that it can't do anything to stop it's sudden situtaion, then it's murder, but if they had the body and a undeveloped brain then that would be alright.

This is similar to the book The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer (more of young adults book but still great). It would still
be immoral and wouldn't be much different from the current illegal organ harvesting that already goes on. By some extent the clone's
brain will have developed to the point of basic survival making them only partially disabled. Even if there was a way to prevent brain
development just imagine yourself standing in the room where the younger version of you is being kept just before it's about to have
it's organs harvested. Would you not feel pity for the unsuspecting clone/person? Could you live with that? Could you live knowing that
you robbed a childs whole life so you could live for a couple years more?
