I think you need to acknowledge that both FA and SP aren't and were never geared towards writers. Having that section was an accommodation rather than a feature. I can't tell if you believe this or not, it sort of sounds like it. It's reasonable to say that a lot of people wanted to leave probably because it wasn't (and still isn't) a proper outlet for writers, and I have to agree that they would have been better off making their own site or finding another home if all they were interested in was writing. That said, I understand you're skeptical but you also have to now move away from the assumption that parts of the website are competing with each other. Maybe you feel like that way now, but again, this is specifically an animation website. If I'm building a literature portal, I'm going to build it properly and give it the attention it would require. It would be it's own section of the website, rather than a section of a section of the forums. The idea is to attract users to the website for their specific interest and give them a reason to be there. It shouldn't matter to them that animations and games exist on the site, given that they are there for the literature and nothing more. It's okay to be skeptical, I'm not sure when or if I would ever do it. It was only briefly mentioned but brief as it was I still have plans in my mind for it. If it happens, the worst thing that happens is no one uses it and I shut that part of the site down or even better make it into it's own website. Best case is it becomes popular, and suddenly Dojo has a repertoire of writers that can be used in collaboration with animators or game designers.

EDIT: I also have to say that I do feel you're kind of coming off as pretentious about this, or at the very least a little rude. I wasn't asking for anyone's opinion, I was just answering someone else's question and you decided to seemingly mock the idea, consider your first response was to laugh at it. If you don't think it will work, then don't bother using it. That's all you need to do. No need to obnoxiously and openly criticize the idea. If you have questions or concerns there are much better ways to express them than how you did.

Whoa whoa. I didn't know I was coming off as obnoxious. Please, I did not mean to spite you or your future efforts. I could care less about what happens to the writers whether or not things shift and change around here. I wasn't trying to imply that the loss of the WL was anyone's fault, nor should it be given special treatment in future endeavors. I just see em sometimes and wonder where will they go when it's over. I guess I should mind my own business, but that's not the point right now. I am sorry if I sounded like I did, I was just expressing anticipatory delight that there is more to the Dojo than what it is. I have listened and watched the Q&A too so I know what it is ultimately going to be as well.

EDIT: You're right. Fuck my sobstory. It doesn't mean a thing. It was irrelevant and I shouldn't have brought it up. I can see now how I might appear to have challenged you. It was not my intention. Sorry.

If you didn't mean it that way, then I apologize. I just wasn't sure how to take "hahahahaha... what" and "that seems... off" combined with the questioning of whether or not Dojo is an appropriate place for something like that. Usually when someone starts out by laughing and questioning something I'm doing, it's done in a condescending manner.

Well, I have a bit of a question regarding the Dojo... how will things be run? I mean, I can understand the having different portals, but will the management system be similar to how it is here? For example, each portal has a few moderators who take care of that particular portal, then there are a few above them who look over everything (like the global mods), and then there's admins?

Uhh, I'm not sure. I'm strictly doing programming this time around, because I don't want to be a community manager at all. Hyun's in charge of that stuff. Right now we have a similar hierarchy, the difference being that portal mods (we call janitors) do not get forum modding powers and forum mods (and forum global mods) do not get portal modding powers. The only globally powerful group are the admins, which is just Hyun and myself for the time being.

That's a pretty interesting system. Out of curiosity, will you be holding applications upon the opening of the dojo for positions, or will you be looking at those who you already know in such positions for a mod who's skills you already have an assessment of?

EDIT: Sorry let me rephrase that mess I just wrote.

Hyun's in charge of the Dojo ultimately, so I'm assuming it's his decision so I don't think Jeff would know, I'm assuming.

It's pretty much up to Hyun. Hyun usually just asks his friends to mod, but he might go a different route with the Dojo.

As far as the swf box, I don't see that being an issue. it's a pretty good tool for any forum. However, I think when the conversation started leaning towards mod apps for dojo things may have just strayed into cross pollination a bit.

I second this. I usually let one forum game exist to serve as a honeypot but this has gone far enough.

Hello, it's Loki here. I had to create another account to contact you.
I am unable to access the Loki account because I no longer know the E-Mail address/password required to access the account. I am completely happy with using this account instead if I need to, it's just that I had trouble before with multiple accounts (someone else made an account on this computer without telling me) and I am just looking for information on what I can do. I am refraining from doing anything with this account until I have more information and as such do not breach any (more) rules on Stickpage.

Thank you.
