hey hey hey wait!

I STRONGLY discourage using someone else's artwork to learn how to draw! I mean, it's one thing to try to nail their style, but it seems like you're a pretty capable artist. I encourage you to do original work ;)

eh

if you replicate an existing artwork you are getting solid practice on how your future original works should end up looking.

less of a learning curve, this way you get some experience before you try to learn to do it on your own. as long as he isn't claiming it's original work then that's totally okay

hm, I'm a little confused.

why is there a super duper similar picture that is two years old? I'd suspect you of tracing it, but you posted stages of drawing it from scratch. Was it just a redrawing of a picture that already existed? I don't think you're Meito (the artist). Or hell, maybe you are, but that guy has a ton of work... I'd be surprised if you just chose this one particular work to post, two years after drawing it... and chose to post a different version than the popular one.
Here's the booru tag for the guy: meito_(maze)

I am still confused.

=( sorry i didnt know the artist before you said it , i just asked to my friend and wanna redraw something for improve my paintting skill ,and my friend gave me this picture ... so i copy this ...

and i didnt post her/his drawing T T because i didnt know thats rudely

but, the picture is 100% drawing and color by me , not depict above that picture

i just wanna improve those skills ,not for other things

it is fact that redrawing is the best way to improve. isnt it? =|

he probably used it as a reference, or traced it at a certain point.

the only thing not similar is the blue background (though shes outlined in white), even the dimensions are basically the same.

im gonna say it was a reference..

yes , just as a reference .but i didnt drew it above this picture each steps are draw by mysce .but i didnt drew it above this picture each steps are draw by myself but base on that

about the size... cant i use the same size? it make me easy to control the scale

after seeing the gif you made, I see that the two drawings are much more different than I thought. Before, I thought the outline was pretty much the same (like, identical) aside from her head. Definitely a reference...

in one of his old animation threads I noticed that he just reanimated a short part of this Touhou animation trailer thing, which confused the FUCK out of me. I thought he might've worked on it or something, and that was a rough draft, but now I know he just likes having references without posting them.

thanks for understanding me =)

imitate the work of others is a good way to learn the skill ,I firmly believe that ,

and i wont nail their style , i will original something in the time when i reached some levels
