I was trying to do an anim inspired by it a while ago, I think this'll be the necessary push I need to actually get started on it.

On a side note, I believe an anime movie/series would be just fine as long as it has it's own widely known motif. Meaning that it would be easily recognized since it's made a name for itself, like how I'd be able to recognize a dragonball Z inspired animation because of all the cliches or concepts used that are related to DBZ.
