So I am in this Digital Form, Space and Lighting class and our assignment for the majority of the quarter has been to design an environment for a character of our choice. I chose Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and thus have designed two shots (which was required) of his environment.. or at least my take on what I think it would look like. Now the class isn't over yet so these aren't the final renders, but I am slowly getting there and I think it is nice to see the transformation and progress of the shot and my understanding of Maya 2012 which has a lot of bugs. So yes enjoy. I only really have the updated renders of the first shot because it is most finished. The second shot needs more work because a lot of the foreground and middle ground are composed of books which I haven't textured yet.

This is the first key light in the scene and I haven't finished tweaking it yet. There are going to be so many lights in all.
We just covered lighting today in class and so there is a lot more I have to think about now.

I obviously haven't finished texturing everything.. the books are going to take forever!

In this second shot the bump on the carpet is too high so that the glass kind of disappears.
