Yeah, I wish I could livestream my stuff. My computer is too shit, though :c
Anyways, been talking in the wonderful Chat thread and Exilement asked me a good question about if I REALLY meant about me having all these "original ideas" for anims. Now, I haven't got anything against the guy, Exilement is awesome, and what he says is true about people about my age always animating tests and fights and aren't really pushing themselves to do better (which is why some people have a short animating life). I did ask myself "Am I really trying to be innovative here?". Answer is... yes and no. I realised I only have plans, rainstorms and storyboards about the things I wanna do. But the way I look at myself, I'm not really pushing myself to get it done. It's like just running half a marathon. you have all the preparations and the plans and how you are going to do it, but you never physically do it in the end. Like how a lot of animators tend to start a massive project, and 20 seconds in, they stop and move on.
I don't want to end up being like that guy, but I feel that if I don't pull myself together, my ambitions and goals will never be reached. I've been animating for more than 3 years. There isn't really much of an excuse to keep making these small anims that people watch and say "Wow, that was sooo smooth!". It's about time I really focused on what I wanna do, and I got Exilement to thank for that.
Now I wanna ask for your own honest answers. I know we all have our own ambitions, but by the rate you are going, do you think you are gonna reach it?

So what are you saying? you're going to strive to make full length animations now? because that's what i'm about to do...I've had ideas about make a show but never really had the skill to do so, but now I do and I'll probably start soon. Don't give up animating SSB you're really good and should continue :D

I have no ambitions ._.
jk XD
Now that I think about it though, the only things I actually would strive to finish that are kinda equal to full-lengths, are battles, now I have some of my own, none-RHG related stuff in my mind, but most of those are only really reserved for writing, some that are actually for animating are either started, but will only progress extremely slowly, or are pushed back into the abyss of my thoughts, only to be remembered as memories, or imagined when playing suitable music. I've never thought of making a series beyond writing, though, I have thought of making movies by the time I graduate though.
To me, though, none of that matters too much, as long as I'm happy with what I do, and as long as I get to fulfill even a fraction of my main ambition: To entertain people.
But I thank you for this, this helped me arrange my thoughts and give priorities to certain things. Thanks :D

Wow, all aboard the Feel train...

I feel the same way about those things SSB... I've made all these really cool plans and storyboards for animations, and when im drawing them I always say ''WOW THIS IS GONNA BE SO COOL I'M NEVER GONNA GIVE UP ON THIS'', and then I never pick it up again... It's a hideous cycle... I know it might be difficult, but I think that we all need to strive to make the best naimations we can... quality over quantity. One nice long anim, made with effort, not 10 practices. I feel like acknowledging this and really commiting to your work is really the only difference between the intermediates and the pros... I feel myself slowly creeping into intermediate... I'm not quite there yet, but I feel myself getting closer. Animators that really strive to complete their work are what make SP a great place. They're what inspire us to animate, but they can't convince us to use our effort. That's where we have to step in ourselves.
I've had some cool ideas for battles, but Im going to wait for after school to start them...
Exams, though they may seem like an excuse, are quite real, and must be done...
EDIT: Guys, I've just had the perfect opportunity for some of us to put work into an animation we can be proud of. I was just asked to do a short film for school. If we collaborate, we can make an amazing animation about the book I read. Don't worry about reading it yourselves... I'll direct the whole thing... I know you're busy SSB, so I assume you're out. Stixz and Purp3l have computer troubles... but Valerian and Nanite... Your projects ATM seem like they aren't urgent...
Whaddaya say? We can slap a Phoenix label on it and put it on the front page. :3
EDITEDIT: Since everyone else is doing it: www.twitch.tv/theblaman

YEEEEEEEEE
Its a french book called Amos daragon...
Its a midieval themed (YEEEESSSSS) book about a boy who can control the elements... (huh.... sounds a lot like your character...) Who saves his mother from an army of Gobbledygooks and defeats a dragon.

Seems interesting.
And about your last post, I get the same issue too. Having parents that expect A's and A*'s for your final grades really stresses you out. But knowing the chat thead, they'll think of it as a lame excuse to be lazy. At times, I really do find it hard to balance it all. I have made a schedule, though, so I'll see how it goes :/
But thanks for the replies guys :)

I'm down, Blabro. Is this gonna be kinda pass-the-.fla? Or do we each animate a separate part, and give em to you to compile?

Something of that nature, collab part-style, essentially... I have some nice Visual effects i think would go great with this. I'm gonna finish the book first, until then, I might PM you a storyboard or something so you can maybe start.
EDIT: Since this is a school project for me, I can spend as much time as I need on it. Finally, a way to integrate my Hobby into my studies :3
Anyway, I started a Storyboard, but we need a cool epic song to go with it. We need something mideival-ish, but also sorta movie-trailer-ish...
Any ideas?

Ohlright, time to get to work *cracks fingers* *accidental fracture* Crap.
Anyway...
Lethal Eloquence
Dream Chasers
Dragon Rider
Planet Earth
Global Tempest
take thy choice
My Commentary:
I particularly recommend Dream Chasers, if pulled off extremely well, I guarantee it will give everyone goosebumps. Dragon Rider is Fast-paced and action oriented, Lethal Eloquence has good balance of epic and fast-paced, though not as medieval as the others. Planet Earth is also pretty good, it fits the calmness of the trailer, and then kicks off into a well done climax, though its a bit repetitive after the mid-point imo. Global Tempest wastes no time and kicks off into the awesome strings and drums directly, this is similar what you'd hear in most modern trailers.
