Sorry, but being a certain member does not make you exempt from certain rules or guidelines

First of all, I didn't say it did. I was asking a fucking favor, not demanding special treatment.

Second of all, what rule/guideline are you even talking about? Nowhere in the rules does it state "you must post in the correct section, no exceptions", so don't act like you're just following standard procedure. This was a judgement call. Obviously threads should go in the relevant section, but an isolated instance of a 6+ year, contributory member posting one song in the general section isn't going to throw the forum into chaos. It would have helped me a lot and absolutely nothing about it was harmful to anything or anyone.

This didn't seem to cause any trouble, and that was a rushed, low-quality song from a newer member posted in the same section without even asking. So what the hell did I do to deserve a big "fuck you" over this?

It just pisses me off that shit like the "cheese appreciation thread" or talking about being raped by a user's avatar is considered appropriate for that section, but when I spend 25+ hours slaving over something and want some feedback on it, it has to go, regardless of the fact that nobody said anything about the thread being in the wrong section. The least you could have done was say you're moving it and let me know why, but the fact that you don't think I even deserve that just adds to the frustration.

But, whatever. I voluntarily gave up the mod position I had before you ever did, so apparently that means you know better than I do. Keep it here.

Anything pertaining to the current rules thread is a moot point, as they're currently being rewritten by Jeff. Mods are giving feedback/additions right now. We had a discussion recently agreeing that moderation decisions should be consistent and equal between all staff, and since his decision was to disallow users intentionally making threads in the wrong section, I was indeed just following standard procedure. Maybe it's not the standard you're used to.

"A big fuck you" - Oh come on, I moved your fucking thread to the correct section because it's what I'm supposed to do. Boo hoo, you didn't want me to because this one is special. You're not demanding special treatment, yet you take the time to mention again that you're an old member who was a moderator? Like I said, I don't care, and Paperclip was given the same treatment. Paperclip. One of the oldest members, period, who was an admin before you joined. (I didn't see him bitching about it, either.) The judgement I made here was to keep things consistent when the new administrator made a decision— and I didn't see carstraft's thread, by the way. I'm really surprised that you're making a big deal; after I moved it, you still got more feedback. This isn't up for debate, anyway.

I consider the "general discussion" section to be a really appropriate place for occasional off-topic stuff that deserves more views than your usual posts. I posted every major animation I've made in the general section because it pertains to who I am as a person and a significant update in my life, and some people i've chatted with on this site might want to see that even though they don't ever visit the flash section. I think that sort of thread does shine for the community better than "ban the above retard."

While you guys are re-working the rules, maybe a note could be added for leniency on people who made the current forum a possibility/shaped the community for years. The reason being we know these guys arent just spamming assholes and probably just want some return from the community they've invested a lot of time in, + what I posted above about general. I dunno it's just a thought.

The "fuck you" was the fact that you couldn't spend 10 seconds to let me know why you did it. Normally it would have been a non-issue, but now because some new zero-tolerance policy is being implemented and enforced before the community knows it exists, it's against the rules. How the fuck am I supposed to know that? "Hey, sorry, new rules say we have to move this, nothing we can do". Understandable and takes 5 seconds, but you'd rather throw it in my face that you don't care enough to even do that for me.

So yes, that's why I mentioned my background here. It's not a demand for special treatment, it's simply why I think I've earned a fucking 10 second explanation when a reasonable request is outright ignored. I've done plenty to show that I care about this community, more than most, yet you're blatantly telling one of the most contributory members here that you couldn't care less about them. It's insulting, and pretty shitty behavior from someone with authority.

You know, I'm just having a really shitty week, I'm taking out my frustrations here. I'll stop doing that.

Still, it bothers me that a mod can post about their book being pressed in the general section, openly say he's just showing off instead of looking for input, and everyone still pats him on the back, including 3 other mods. Carstraft gets away with it because every single mod apparently missed the thread. But when I do it, I'm an entitled asshole who thinks he's above the rules. it's just odd.
