My intention isn't to make animation look realistic but to make it look believable; which gives me the freedom to animate goofy movements and use silly poses! :D

i think this is clever actually, cuz animations aren't to do what can be done. Animations are to take what is impossible and make it possible! Great idea! I support this, and i think you should upload some of these to your Youtube channel

It's been forever since I visited SP! I have made one or two things worth showing since I last posted, check out "Capture the flag" and "Nutcracker style" on the first post. :)

Oh and thanks for the lovely comments. c:

Really nice really smooth, have you ever considered switching to flash?

Thanks. Of course I have considered moving (don't you remember my billions of "I quit Pivot" videos on YouTube? ;D), but I haven't really made a defined switch. As I animate less, the amount I animate in Flash in proportion to the amount I animate in Pivot has increased. Still sort of "finding my feet" for stickfigures in Flash.

I made this promo video thing in Flash a few days ago, for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1v4GxW-aWE - not stickfigures, but still Flash!

I might get some stickfigures on the go now; see what I can do. Thanks for the comment. :)

Thanks both. Yeah, the dancing one got good responses. Hopefully I will be able to transfer my "style" to Flash effectively, though the bounciness will be difficult to grasp at 24fps.

you don't have to use 24 fps
you can use the line tool to create similar effects
I'd prefer you stick with pivot since you're amazingly great with it
also you should get in competitions on stickpage an like that, for example bse, you don't need flash to get in.

you sir are the master of patience. i do not see how you did all those little movements with the capture the flag.
you don't see many people put that much effort in trying to get over one obstacle, let alone animating the figure stretch before he runs.
loved everything!

Thanks guys. Yeah, it can get frustrating, but taking the little bit of extra time it takes to do those little adjustments and twitches is worth it, imo. Humans are like that; when we're unsure of ourselves, we hesitate, so making a stickfigure do the same only makes sense. It's more entertaining, too, because the viewer can relate to what they're seeing.

And I know I don't have to animate at 24fps, lol. I actually animate at 25fps in Flash, when I do, as the only reason to use 24 is to be able to break it down and animate on 2s, with in-betweens, etc, which I don't do. 25 makes for smoother playback in videos, so yeah. I actually posted some of my Flash stuff: http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?44209-Krustalien-I-am-a-Pivoter-at-heart-but-here-s-some-stuff - do comment, it only got a few responses. :)

Small addition, I made the start of this animation aaaaaages ago, but did the second scene across an hour or two this evening.

Nothing serious really, thought I may as well post it. :)

Yeah, I did this whilst talking to people, so progress was very slow but it allowed me to kind of... chill, and animate, instead of just forcing the frames out. :)

Anyone else?
