Hey guys, I'm Obcidien (And thats how it'll stay) and I'm new to animation. I've been on the site for a while watching vids of other people's anims and was inspired to try it out myself.
I'm 16 years old, about to finish high school in May and already taking college classes so I'm pretty busy as of late, however, that won't stop me from practicing and honing my animation skills so that I might one day rank with the best of them.
I'm into video games, already planning on getting into the game industry as maybe one of three things (Possibly more as times change); Quest Designer (Coming up with the plot and dialogue), Game Programmer (as the name implies, programming the game itself), or Animation (Hence the want to become better, even if it starts with stick figures).

Welcome to stickpage man! The reason why you started out is the exact reason I started out! I remember the first time i saw a stick figure animation... I was like 8 or 10 or something like that. Since then I've wanted to make animations, but didn't really start till I was 13.
Again, WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to get into Animation, do not start with stick figures. Animation is all about figure drawing, knowing human anatomy (muscles, bone structure, etc.), drawing accurate perspective (sighting angles, using point perspective techniques), drawing from life, being good at clean-up (reflections, lighting & shadows, color, etc.), transferring your skill to 2d and 3d programs and mastering them. Stick figures isn't even a good place to start--I could draw that shit at age 3.

Sorry, I'm just tired of seeing people that are like "OMG I love video games! My career has to involve video games!" and they sign up for programming or animation, only to get rejected or drop out soon after realizing how much dedication it requires.
