well, in the bible jesus says that "no one shall se the father except through me" so if you think about it, all christians believe that all atheists and such are going to hell, even if the dont say it out loud due to common coutesy. and anyway, if youre atheist, to you, hell doesnt even exist, so i dont understand why you even take any statements that are "youre going to hell" based seriously

Faith is the belief in something despite a lack or contradiction of evidence, it has little to do with what separates an opinion from a fact.

Because people like Yun think that stating the belief (that we will go to Hell for not believing) is not only okay, but is actually a legit reason to start believing in God if you're an atheist. On top of that, you guys are okay with the idea that innocent people will be tortured for eternity. Does that not sicken you? Just imagine it. Think of the gruesome things that you believe are really happening to good people who simply didn't think a certain god was real.

What the actual fuck does this even mean.
Why would I regret my disbelief, if it's not because I'll go to hell? It was implied, quite blatantly, just because it's not what he said word-for-word doesn't mean that's not what he meant.
if you knew heaven and hell existed, wouldn't you change some decisions you've made? wouldn't you want to go back and change things because you regret some of the things you've done?
I guess I'd go to church a bit more, maybe pray every once in a while, but otherwise I'm probably a better person than you and I wouldn't change anything. I already try my best to be a good person and I don't need the threat of hell or the reward of heaven to do it. I'm just a good fucking guy because that's what everyone should try to be.
And yet, you think I'll probably burn in hell. That's why I have a problem with you. That outlook alone makes you a shittier person than I ever hope to be.

as to the eternal torture subject, im gonna have to go with the "everything god does is right" argument on that, since, not being much of a christian scholar myself, just a religious person, i cannot actually respond to your statement

Exactly. I don't believe it exists. So why even tell me I'm going to hell? If I believed mordor was a real place and I told you you're going there, purely for some arbitrary lack of belief on your part, you'd think I'm an asshole too.
It's all intentions. You believe in a god who "loves" all his children and yet, when I'm born without the capacity to believe in him, he's going to send me to hell? Even though I'm a moral, kind, respectful, decent person who doesn't violate his commandments any more than the average christian?
That's horrifyingly fucked up and you need to really consider if that's the kind of god you want to believe in. If you do, then keep it to yourself, I don't need to be judged by a difference in belief. I don't do it to theists, hell I've argued with atheists here over it, and defended religion and the people who believe in a god. it'd be nice if I could get some level of courtesy in return.
speaking of which, travis, you still haven't quoted where I insulted everyone who's religious, like you said I did. couldn't find it, huh? what a fucking surprise. I'm discussing existential matters with someone who can't even read.
