I generally like light novels. I have an app on my phone that can download light novels, and I read some when I have nothing else to do.

And when I start, it's hard to stop.

On a side note, I can see why they say Seitokai Yakuindomo is just a huge sex joke.

Future Diary gets a 4 for it's lackluster characters, their development and structure. It's unrealistic at some parts where the supernatural stuff has no role on. It creates it's world with little to no structure or rules, sometimes for the sake of being edgy.

I didn't watch the anime, I've only read the manga. It's definitely over the top, but depending on what kind of viewer you are, it may/may not bother you. Future Diary's biggest accomplishment is it's decision not to fuck with you. All the characters are deep and each arc always keeps your interest. There are interesting twists you don't expect, and it does a good job not making the characters seem immortal. I really like that kind of theme in a manga, which is why I personally enjoyed it so much. Plus, the MC isn't your typical one, which makes the story all that more interesting.

The ones that I find to have some depth are Yuno, Yuki, Minene and Fourth. Those four seems to be the only one that has solid motives and reasons in the game. The others are as I said above. Tho, I will admit I enjoyed it too; the story and concept is pretty interesting and some of the twist are nice.

Madoka needs to be nerfed and the MMORPZzzzzzzz
Madoka Magica Movies and .Hack//Sign
Now Open for Rating and Discussion

As always, if you are so inclined, rate and discuss the above titles. If you've seen any of the previous titles and haven't done a rating yet, it would be much appreciated if you threw a number or two my way. Cowboy Bebop, Jin-Roh, and Little Busters! still haven't received a rating, and I know for a fact that those anime have been seen by at least one person, I'm mostly looking at you Metal.

I couldn't find a DVDrip for the 3rd Madoka Movie, so I decided not to watch it. This means that if you have seen the anime but not the movies you are welcome to give a rating. I'm also sorry to say that I go back to uni tomorrow, I will still continue this, and I will still deliver on the reviews, but it means it will take a bit longer then I initially thought. I will probably have the last two titles open next fri/sat, and will have at least 2 (hopefully more) reviews posted every week after that.

Current Scores:
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - 10 -
Summer Wars - 7.5 -
11eyes - 7.5 -
Another - 8 -
Cowboy Bebop - NA -
Zetsuen no Tempest - 8.5 - 8.5
Jin-Roh - NA -
The World God Only Knows - 9.5 - 9 -
Yumekui Merry - 8.5 -
Mirai Nikki - 8 - 4 -
Little Busters! - NA -
Madoka Magica - NA -
.Hack//Sign - 9 - 9.5

It's the home stretch, currently watching Kodomo no Jikan and Mushibugyou.

I'll take that score, but I'm gonna need you to elaborate on why you think it's a great anime, personally, I'm not seeing it...

I of course bear a huge bias as a fan of the entire .hack// series, and hence, I see it a bit differently from the typical viewer I suppose. There isn't a particular matter of the anime which I can just say "oh, that's why I think it's a 9." While I do want to keep an open mind on the matter, I honestly can't low vote it.

I will say, however, it isn't my favorite of the series. Later ones are a bit more interesting, and the movies are fun too.

I think all the characters had depth. Their motive in the game doesn't necessarily equal their depth as a character. I haven't read it in a long time, so bear with my memory. For example, the "hero" character had depth because his design was made to be intentionally shallow. When his beliefs clashed with the others, it only emphasized his character traits further. I will always remember his quote in the side-story Mosaic when Minene questioned his definition of Justice. He responded with "absolute victory."

Could you tell me which part in particular you enjoyed? Ooo, or which character?
