Yo man
Me!Me!Me! is deep social commentary
you just don't appreciate it past the gratuitous nudity
good thing you had a gentleman like myself to clear up your misconceptions

Oh but on the contrary, m'e!m'e!m'e!, m'gentlesir, is not a deep social commentary seeing as how it presents itself in a way that makes it part of the problem that it's supposed to be criticizing, creating the old and tired paradox that makes it only seem deep. When actually carefully examined under a microscope, it's all bells and whistles with no actual substance. It's hypocritical and only turns itself into shallow eye-candy that relies on gimmicky methods to attract attention.

This is where I end my message to you, Drone-kun.

this really isn't nothing more than me saying you passed up the opportunity to use "m'e!m'e!m'e!"

Ah, Buccano. What a wonderful waste of my time. Truly the best show that I ever didn't like.

Mariah and that other guy were lovable as heck though

I don't know if you're joking or not, but you can't just diss Baccano without explaining yourself.

Miria and Isaac is the real anime best girl; so awesome a character s/he had to be split into two.

Alright friend. I'll explain the best as I can on my phone. I'll start what I genuinely loved:
I loved the premise, the first introduced characters as well as their introductions themselves, and I loved how at the beginning each story began to masterfully join together after being totally unrelated. And above all I loved Isaac and Mariah. Some of the villains were great, too. Basically everything about the first gash half of the series, I loved.

But, once everything was together It just all sort of... Lost momentum. It had set such a great standard for itself, and it tried so hard to keep itself at that level that it fell over and made many attempts at being dramatic seem cringe-worthy. So many dramatic scenes were made mediocre by awful moments of dialogue. The scary and badass ghost of the train transformed into an annoying and edgy and unlikable cunt, as did the guy who swore to kill everyone in the world with his girlfriend being last.

And it got worse in the last 6 episodes. Don't even get me started with that gimmicky little shitwagon with the hammer who made constant slow-paced speeches about the stupidest stuff imaginable. And then after closing a great story with those 6 episodes of 'meh', it didn't give itself any closure. The way they did it would have been fine if they pulled it off right, but instead it seemed cheap. And throughout the whole thing Isaac and Mariah were perfect and I loved them with my whole heart <3

We have a completely opposite opinion regarding Baccano lmfao

The first few episodes, the introductions and what not, were the worst parts of the anime for me since there were way too many things going on at the same time, and they did nothing but confuse me even more. I stopped watching it for a few weeks and only after I picked it up did I really find pleasure in watching it. How everything got pieced together, how the whole web of confusion was slowly sorting itself out, really was what made me like the show. Like, I don't agree that it lost momentum but rather it went to a direction that was supposed to be wacky and fun. I think that the dramatic parts of it weren't really supposed to be dramatic, but rather they were supposed to just show how absurd everything happening is and how absurd the characters are too. I also appreciated the characters more, and liked the dynamic of everyone with each other when they actually interacted as opposed to when they were still being introduced.

I don't know, maybe took it too seriously?

I'm not sure if it wasn't supposed to be taken seriously. The sidestory that showed the origins of the immortal elixir things seemed pretty serious, as well as their final confrontation. But I didn't only watch it for super serious plots and dialogue, or else I wouldn't have loved Isaac and Mariah so much. I dunno, maybe it just didn't the right stroke for this bloke

From what I remember the ending episodes of baccano is a side story related to the wrench guy.
You shouldn't really consider that the story fizzling, so much as extra bacon on the side of the entre that was the main story which had already concluded.

It would be a legitimate gripe if you argued that the main story was simply too short to please you.

But, I cannot fathom how you didn't like the rail tracer.

The main story was an alright length. But yeah, it was after the conclusion and it showed the rail tracer as a more "normal" guy interacting with people where he came off as an obnoxious poopbutt. I did enjoy the absurdity of him and that lady somehow becoming a couple.

Yeah, there was a lot that I liked and plenty that I disliked too. I probably just enjoy different kinds of shows

I for one actually welcome the view. It's interesting to hear other peoples opinions about Baccano, and despite the fact that it's probably one of my favorite anime series, I don't think it's perfect by any means.

I'm still kinda surprised though lmao

That's basically the boat I'm in.

That Canadian bastard explains his perspective in such a way that I don't instantly want to snap his neck and tea bag the corpse, like I most likely would from a fellow American.
Real talk, probably not considering that Isaac and Miria never appeared in Durarara's manga. If Durarara had a light novel, I don't think they appeared in that one either.
Narita wouldnt make the studio animate the appearance without his permission or something
