IMO I actually like Eren because he might be an idiot but he is focused and his hatred is justified. Mikasa is more concerned with his safety rather than his ambitions but Eren actually has motive and a goal. By sheer dedication he made it to the 5th top spot. I can't really see how he's self righteous and his lack of talent is ironically humanizing.

I disagree.

^Try Psychopass or any martial art anime
@Youwishjellyfish: I totally agree but the ferocity comes from his desire to explore and being denied that because of the giants, it was focused when his mom died. Eren is definitely a stereotypical shonen main character, but he's in a seinen like show, so his immaturity is magnified. Plus all those other character exhibit zen like states of plotkai some times, but Eren never really goes through that, except that one time where he stopped carrying about the whole situation when he had to move the boulder, but that didn't really work in his favor.
As a character outside of the story, he's just and angry kid, but I think he works in the story.
In fact, Attack On Titan's character development is so good, that even as the main character, Eren doesn't have exclusive focus. Especially on Irwen and Levi.

Sometimes I think people analyze things just a liiiiittle bit too much. Just saiyan.
I'd rather just enjoy the show rather than argue about it, ya know?

This isn't really arguing, or at least I don't consider it to be, its just discussing various thoughts and opinions that come along with enjoying a show, and its something I really enjoy doing when I feel passionate about a show.
But I think the majority of this community would agree with you lol.

I don't know if anybody has mentioned it yet, but does RWBY, despite being 3 dimensional, count as Anime?

AFAIK all animations that are produced by Japan are anime.

RWBY isn't Japanese though, so it's not an anime. I think anime inspired would be the term you're looking for.

Depends on how you define anime. Some people define it as any animation done in Japan and would say no, while some people define it by animation style and would be more inclined to say yes.
Personally, I don't think it matters. Your enjoyment of RWBY wouldn't increase or decrease with the label you put on it. But it is interesting to see where people stand on the subject.
If your interested, this is a pretty nice vid that explains why its all just one big grey area.

Oh and Kairyuu, would you mind putting spoilers in a spoiler next time. Personally I don't think its anything major but some people feel like it takes away from a show. I'm also looking at you Org.

I thought anime applied to manga (or manga-styled art) that is in an animated form... Even if it is 3D, isn't it in the manga style? Anyways...

Well Wikipedia confirms what I said. I think 3D animations can still be considered as anime. If RWBY was made by some Japanese producers in Japan or something, then I guess it would be considered anime.

And yeah I really don't know what you mean with "manga-styled art."
