Censorship is important not because media influences children directly, but because media can desensitize children to a point where they don't see anything wrong with rape or murder. They'll be neutral about it, which isn't very good.

I don't think that would happen unless the child already had social/mental issues. I played violent games and watched horror movies and stuff regularly since I was a young child, and I definitely see something wrong with both rape and murder.

I don't think we should censor anything, if you don't want to watch it, look away. If you don't want your kids to see it, don't show them or don't put them in a situation to see it. That's why they're "your" kids, they're "your" responsibility. I dislike censorship of most kinds. I can understand if you're watching news and suddenly someone on live feed blows their brains out, then yes. But unless it's something like that, fuck it.

Ratings are stupid too, the fact remains that the adults get the movies or games regardless and what do adults commonly have *gasp* little kids. The little bastards are going to see that shit unless you keep a close eye on them.

More empty houses than homeless and we can't find a solution to the homeless problem. The population is so stupid here, man. We complain about every stupid little thing our system does, claim we have the right to dismantle it and fix it as we see fit. But instead we keep electing corrupt, greedy and money grubbing bastards that only work towards preserving their own wealth and perpetuating the capitalist system that is now failing us. When you see something come on the news it's always about a tragic story or a grizzly murder, you're not thinking "Oh how awful" no not at all. It may not have came out of your mouth, but what you're thinking is "Do I get to see a corpse? show me the blood on the walls!".

That's what every parent in america needs to wake up and realize. Instead of complaining to the government about a video game of movie you bought, take responsibility and keep it from your child, or even better, don't buy shit like that just in case he/she finds it one day
