First thing that involves battle and stick figures, and you say it, just think really hard.

If you really have a passion to do it, then you'll figure something out.
In the mean time, it doesn't hurt to just run through the basics:
Counterattacks, reactions, obstacle courses, etc.. Maybe while you're animating them, you'll think of a way to make it better as you go

This was my first ever decent animation:

I did it by just throwing a stickman onto the screen and seeing where the flow took me. I would really recommend it if you're just animating out of boredom.
The other good ones are a technically perfect jump, a stickman walking up some stairs, and a guy swinging on something.

You should think about yourself as a god, so you can do whatever you want with your character. F.e, make your character look at the sunrise, then the sun starts getting bigger and constantly moves to your character, burning everything. Character runs in panic. Or whatever. Unleash your imagination and don't be afraid to fail.

You should make an RHG character that somehow has a muscular dick, and uses it as a limb to attack people with.
The possibilities are endless.

When I'm frustrated or stressed, I just take out my laptop and animate the killing of a few stickfigures. Emotion really does make your animations better. :D
