Not to good, It was overglowed or blurred. Needs more particles, IT leavs behind some small bits of particles :P When it goes away. now it just looks like you deleted a bit everytime, don't use so much glow :S its ugly.

That was really blurry, and it looked choppy, that may have just been me though.

Well, at least the colour of the explosion is appropriate.

It's also too slow, but that could simply be lag. Anyway, particles.

I thought the glow was fine. But it dissipated WAY too slow causing an awkward choppy look. Particles would definitely improve it as well. Do a search for explosion tutorials on newgrounds, there some good ones out there.

Try animating the explosion itself rather than hope for the filters to complete the work. Have it rip into more than one piece and disintegrate into pieces. Shape construction in effects is very important to make them look attractive.

Also, it's not slow, I even tried it on 120 fps, (don't worry, this one is 24). It's lagging due to big symbols.
