make it more realistic

That's why I posted this here so that people can give more CnC about it, I need to know specifically how I can make it more realistic.

Uhh, sorry if I'm sounding mean or anything but this doesn't really look like anything.. I guess it shoots out to the right and the trigger is the small yellow thing? but then there's the blue irregular shapes with the random stuff in the middle, I see you're trying to be fancy with a railgun in your own design but try making things that make a bit more sense

it need more details: like clip, battery and detailed stuff...
for example some buttons or control of the railgun power.
i think tracing is good start too learn to do those things, than replace the tracing by your own drawings
hope it will help ya :3

Sub, you dont need to shade it with alpha blurs, you could use some gradients instead, they can be as good in some cases. Not bad, you'll get there, the first try isnt always the best.

This doesn't need any CnC.. because there is nothing to criticize at all! People want CnC but they don't post anything that's worth the CnC, only thing I can tell you here is "Learn to imagine and THEN, learn to draw, ..."

gradients

That's the thing I need to know about, if you know any tutorials for gradients, please link me.

@voltaic
I can imagine, I just can't put it on canvas.
