I was just looking around, and the highest price I saw was $700. Most other listings were under $500 (most are buy it now, as well).
You don't have to pirate software, you just have to know where to look.

And you don't have to get it for $800. You can get it for $240 by finding it on www.academicsuperstore.com as long as you have proof that you're a student. Or, as stoops said, you can find it on eBay.
