I remember watching flash animations and getting interested in them and spending several hours searching google for "2-d animation program", since it obviously wasn't made with a 3-d animation program, and not finding out about easytoon, pivot, or flash.

And you could either search fruitlessly like I did (especially if you don't know the right terminology) or you could ask a bunch of supposedly helpful people on an internet forum that was designed around animating.
