@Dipi, asura is not a god, in either buddist or hindu mythology( i forgot which, but the game is based on both), "Asura" was the destructor.
He destroyed whatever was in his way.

2-well, he defeated destiny, to tell the truth. Also, just my supposition, I think he defeated Chaos: he made the world sink in it and then he used his power to gave the people the possibility to create it gain. Said this, yes, he defeated the Chaos
