The Lone Wolf Part: 3
He looked up into the night sky. He can't believe whats happening to him. Ever since he was a little boy his mind was always there for him. It was his only salvation between life and his world. But now the bridge that connect the two worlds together is now breaking away. He cannot grasp a hold of his mind to fix it. He thought to himself is this the price he has to pay for being a lone wolf. He stared at the moon. Its pale gaze was majestic and mesmerizing. The glimmer of the moon shined bright in his bright blue eyes. He thought to himself. What if all those years ago that his parents were right? That its time to let go of my gift. But to let go of a gift that was always there for him will be an impossible task. But every gift has its price. It was time to go home. But which way is home? He had left the mountains so long ago that he cant remember the way. He closed his eyes. He can see a dark tunnel. Trees bind and bend the path that seems to twist on and on forever. The smell of mud and decaying tree filled his noise. At the end their seemed to be a light. The light led to a forest area. He can smell Pine Cones and Pinewood.
He opened his eyes. He knew were he had to go. His path to home was set and he was upon it. He walked out of the shelter. The path will be hard to follow. The path starts on the other side of the mountain. The sun was rising as he was walking. The smell of the newly made dew filled the air. The sound of birds and other animals are up and about with their daily lives. As he is walking he was thinking of how would his mom and dad would react to him. Its been over 14 years since he had last saw them. Questions swarmed in his head. Will they recognize me?. Do they still love me? What will they say? The questions poured in like a waterfall that has no end. He shook his head. He was very nervous about going to the place were he had left. That place is all he can say. The mocking by the other wolves. He can remember each day like it was yesterday. He closed his eyes.*
It was Winter. The snow had just settled on the ground of the forest. In the clearing sat a young wolf. He was sitting on a tree stump humming to himself. He would always sit there and call the birds with his humming. But none showed today. A felling did not set well with him. Usually the birds would be here by now. He got up to explore the area. He checked behind trees, behind rocks, and even in the nest themselves. Just as he was about to give up he heard a noise. It sounded horrible. Like the sound of many souls being took all at the same time. He turned around quickly. He saw another wolf. His teeth were dripping with a red liquid. His coat stained with blood. But this was not his. The wolf looked at him. The wolf coughed out feathers. He stared at the wolf. Horror filled his face.
He opened his eyes. He was here. The peered into the dark tunnel. It was void of any life or hope. Its sorrows can drain a happy person dry and leave them with hopelessness. He can still remember his childhood fear of the dark. The fear had long diminished away. He stood in the entrance with a disarming smile on his face. But he can fell the fear rising up again to take control of his body halting him to proceed forward to a accomplish his life long mission. But he would not let that happen. He closed his eyes and proceeded into the dark and endless tunnel.
He was watching himself as he frolicked in the the field. But this time he was not alone. He was with a girl. Both were laughing and running. She was about the same age as him. They were at peace. Day after day they would play. Until one day she never showed up. He sat on the field alone for days. Until one day he just gave up. The only person who he ever shared a bond with is gone and he will never she here again. He would sit in his house for days wondering if it was him that drove here off. One day he just forgot about her. Her name, and her face are all erased from his memory.*
He opened his eyes as the smell of fresh Pinewood hit his noise. He looked around. He said to himself that he is finally home. After so many years he is home. the path continued more towards the woods. He ran. He was the wind. He ran fast without stopping. But he was attentive enough to keep in mind the spiky Pine Needles. He was almost there he can see the clearing were the pack lives. He ran faster. He made it. He looked around. Bones and dust lay everywhere. The green grass was a dull brown, the trees were burned and scarred and the entire place was void of life. He had reached the end of his journey.
His childhood home was gone. He ran for his old home. It was buried in rubble and broken trees. He moved the trees. The rubble was the hard part it was everywhere. The rubble was all gone. As he moved the last branch he found something that changed his life forever. He found two bodies. His mother and father both dead. there corpse stained and bloodied. He could not look. He was horrified. He looked around and noticed other dead body's. All lay ether crushed by rock or punctured by a tree. He needed to give them all a proper burial. He looked around to make sure all bodies were here. Most of the dead were the wolves that mocked him when he was a kid. His tears grew stronger as it was harder for him to hold it in. He came across another body. A female. she But looked so familiar. There was something in his mind that was trying to be reviled. She was his long lost friend. But she did not have any puncture wounds or blood. Her nose twitched. He stared at her as she awoke.*
She looked at him as she tried opening both her eyes. He looked at her and smiled. He was happy that someone he knew was alive. She had trouble getting up. Her leg was twisted. He helped her to her side as he go a bunch of leaves to support her broken leg. He went back to the bodies. He had to make sure they get their peace. It took him two days to bury the bodies. He was exhausted. Physicality and emotionally. He cared for the female wolf as he worked to restore the clearing. One day She was able to walk again. She was now a lone wolf too. Her parents, brothers and sisters are all dead. Both of them were lone wolves together. They stood by each other. One night they went to the mountains. It was a full moon out. The pale god rose above the mountains. Its beautiful and radiant light shined in their eyes. The crickets began to chyme as the birds chirped. He looked up into the moon. He closed his eyes and howled. His voice was slick and smooth. the sound emanated as animals joined in harmony. He opened his eyes and he smelled Pinewood.
The end.
