I was inspired by cracked.com from theyre top 10 lists and decided to make my own.
What does it take to make this list? The character has to be hardcore, cool, give or take some douchebaggyness.

Number 10: Solid Snake

Whats the best damn name for a character ever? You guessed it. Solid Snake.
He has tons of weapons, can sneak through a base, he doesn't take shit from anyone, and to this date has still NEVER been in a bad game.

Number 9: Carl

Simple, being in a GTA game alone makes you deserve a spot on a list of badassery, but what separates carl from the other GTA characters is the main source of controversy in the game he was in, thats right. Hot Coffee.

Number 8: Kratos

The god of war, Kratos kills people with his blades of chaos, he defeated giant bosses, and knew how to handle women (sex minigame hint hint).
And like Snake, has never been in a bad game.

Number 7: Agent 47

Agent 47, all you really need to say is hes a hitman.

Number 6: Dante

Dante has amazing weapon skills, kicks your ass inside out, and is mellow.
Seriously, in the first game, the intro a girl tore apart his building and he didn't care.

Number 5: Mario

You will probably disagree with me on this one, but Mario is quite badass. Why?
Hes Italian, has a huge ass mustache, and can crush your buddy by jumping on you.
And do you even know how many times hes been whored by Peach?

Number 4: Master Chief

The main character in the biggest franchise ever, this man has badass weapons, and when he kills you, hes going to thrust your face. You cant say no when your dead, now can you?

Number 3: Cloud

This man has a huge ass sword, crazy stylistic action, and has hair that makes girls horny every time they see it.

Number 2: Prince of Persia

This prince can kill you in slow motion, throw you off a cliff, and can rewind time. Now, what can beat this badassery?

Number 1: Duke Nukem

Hey, his latest game has been delayed for over a decade, and there are fears it will never come out.
But, this man is the ultimate form of baddass to ever be in a video game.
His dialog is badass, his weapons are badass, and the way he takes out the bosses is badass.

Perfect list.

I'd vote GLaDOS. She's a bad ass chick with neurotoxins up the circuit filled robotic ass.

Niko Bellic from GTA IV deserves a spot on that list. It's understandable that you haven't played it yet, but he's probably the biggest badass in the GTA series.

Trust me, you would understand if you have played GTA IV yet. It's just his personality in general that makes him such a badass. Plus his character is much more developed than all the previous protagonists in the series.
